Building on my 'recipes are suggestions' mantra, I decided to try something different yet similar -- and with pears. This one is EVEN BETTER! Sort of recipe in alt text. #vegan

Slice of the most delicious, healthiest pear pie you'll ever have. Each slice of pear is lightly drizzled with some oil and sugar. They're slightly browned and crispy on top. Yes, it's a meal by itself!

I use an adjustable pie mold. It comes in handy when you never measure stuff.

Recipe suggestion:

Step 1: blend tofu + spices + some sugar + a pear
Step 2: cook oat groats about 3/4 of the way through. Pour off any extra water and stir into the blended tofu. The batter should be runny but not watery. The wetter the batter, the lower and longer you'll bake. The thicker the batter, the shorter you'll bake.
Step 3: slice very ripe pears or cut to your desired shape. You could even slice in half and lay on top that way. Seriously, just get those pears in you.
Step 4: pour your tofu-oat mixture into any pan. Place sliced all over the top- the more, the merrier. Just keep putting them in until you can't fit any more.
Step 5: bake. I covered after about 20 bc I didn't want the fruit to burn. Then I turned up the heat for a bit at the end to crisp up the pear slices perfectly. Tofu makes a perfect crust every time!

Growing up in the rural south (so long ago 😆), I never tasted real cheese (v American “cheese”). Got a gift box from rebelcheese.com yesterday and OHYOURGOD so many diff, delicious bacterias! Prices reasonable so will order more by also track down some bacterias to experiment with. YUMMMMM #vegan

Holding the very first Brie and pistachio chèvre plate I’ve ever had. Bonus, with my dodgy pancreas I need to eat small meals — which means I can stay healthy as well as full by eating small but heavier plates throughout the day instead of the arbitrary three squares we grew up being told was the only way to eat your food.

Never stop experimenting and learning about food, y’all. Holy chèvre!
