Defra is gathering evidence that could shape the future policy on gamebird shooting. Have your say! Have you experienced issues such as gamebird collisions, dumped dead birds, illegal traps, suspicious raptor deaths, disturbance, damage or loss of access to land? For info, visit buff.ly/TGjrkrK

I weathered the stress by going out and helping someone in the village find their dog lost in the woods in the dark. I asked the other two women, both in late 60s or early 70s, whether they wanted a torch to see in the pitch black. They responded with a resounding no, because they knew the paths..:)

I really struggle with performing in interviews - where I just suffer blanks and very quickly lose my train of thought - and don't say all the things I should and need to say, almost like astral projecting. Is this an autistic thing? I prep & prep but makes no difference, I still come across badly.

The tremendous river Ribble greeted me in Settle with a roar. First bird I saw was a kingfisher - a dashing turquoise blue diamond. Then an egret. Had a great convo with some local people about it being a spate river. It's quite something as it crashes through Settle.

There are many crises on our rivers, and one of them is that they might start to disappear for good. There are some in N Yorkshire that have suffered this fate, and I am concerned this might happen to the Seven in summer. It is a sobering thought because in Sinnington, it draws in so much wildlife.
