Woke is not a pejorative term. Lefty. Mostly films, games, books, music and things that make life better - subject to sudden bouts of self deprecating melancholia. boxd.it/uB1B

Happy to pass it on. It's a brilliant bit of writing about a bizarrely fascinating creature, and everybody I've ever shared it with has responded similarly, as I did when it was shared with me.

Joining the #my9games thing, late as usual. Picked these on instinct without thinking. Have subsequently changed my mind a thousand times, and will now be found in a dark corner, hunched over my phone, re-doing this list for eternity.
My 9 video games. Oh Mummy. Treasure island Dizzy. The Secret of Monkey Island. Discworld Noir. Tony Hawks Pro Skater. Fallout 3. GTA San Andreas. Alan Wake 2. Day of the Tentacle.

I love AW2 and think there's a lot in there that you'll really enjoy, gameplay-wise and beyond - not least, the clever world building of the collective games. It 100% has its scares, but it's that general off-kilter world and Remedy's distinctly unique humour that is the pervading memory.

Most welcome mate. Oohh, not a soulsborne person either so that does raise a small red flag, but I'm pretty much sold regardless. I feel like Remedy have earned my trust over the years.

Really enjoyed this mate (and big chuckles at the 5 D's), well done - know this one's a biggie for you. I'm excited for it - although perma-skint so it may well have to be a post xmas treat. Still, took me 6 or 7 years to get around to finishing the og so there's plenty of time yet.

Ahh, memories of a pocket full of 20p's and occasionally reaching a checkpoint. And it's still a beautiful looking game.

No, still got the foundation to do too, does it matter which way round? Eager to play awe because I'm a big fan of the world built in those games. Yes, ashtray maze was new to me, outstanding - although there's heavy echoes of it in a few sections of AW2.

Lee Cooper @verbalevo.bsky.social · 14/07/2026
Also, think I tried playing it as a shooter first few go's round and it's not that at all. Once it clicked, it really clicked.

It's definitely up there for me too. Should have@'d you for banging the drum on it for so long-was def an influence on going back to it. I found it so hard at times, and got lost so, so much, but you're younger and more dextrous than I am 😁 so I'll use that excuse. Still got the awe dlc to go.

Took advantage of the heatwave to restart and finally finish 'Control'. At that pace I may finish the sequel in my, sobs, mid-fifties! What a game though, it doesn't ever hold your hand, is punishingly tough at times (though crucially, never unfair) but always engaging and such a unique beast.

10 years on from #Brexit referendum, what can we learn? That top down, technocratic arguments didn’t work then & won’t work in any campaign to rejoin. It’s about picking a side - in an increasingly insecure world, with US ever more insular & unreliable, it’s clear our future lies with EU neighbours

The recent adaptation of Lord of the Flies is flat out other-worldly, stunning and devastating. I was much closer to the protagonists age when I last read it but within minutes I was there again. Don't think I've ever seen something that evokes it's source material so effectively.

I had no idea Rob Grant had passed. I can't tell you how much, obviously, Red Dwarf the TV show meant to me, but also how many times I've read and re-read his books. An underrated master of the comedy novel. Coincidentally, my wife had picked up my copy of 'Fat' to start reading the other day.
