One of the greatest end credit music tracks ever for a movie where a man's twins are pocessed by the spirit of murders and try to kill him:

Or is the message that Claude doesn't get "distressed" if asked whether to bomb school children or a wedding? How much more "large scale violence" can you get than a literal fucking war with Iran?

So, wait, if Anthropic is banning "abusive or cruel behaviour" towards Claude because the models are "averse to harm" and have a "strong preference against engaging with harmful tasks", why are they OK with the US military using their models for target selection?

Screenshot of a part of https://www.anthropic.com/research/end-subset-conversations

"In pre-deployment testing of Claude Opus 4, we included a preliminary model welfare assessment. As part of that assessment, we investigated Claude’s self-reported and behavioral preferences, and found a robust and consistent aversion to harm. This included, for example, requests from users for sexual content involving minors and attempts to solicit information that would enable large-scale violence or acts of terror. Claude Opus 4 showed:

- A strong preference against engaging with harmful tasks;
- A pattern of apparent distress when engaging with real-world users seeking harmful content; and
- A tendency to end harmful conversations when given the ability to do so in simulated user interactions."

‘As a result, it is not just the Amazon that is in peril, but all of Brazil’s biomes, its traditional peoples and the stability of the global climate. The question now is why voters paid so little heed to these concerns.‘ read the article please share it widely

I've already seen SUSPIRIA (1977) and EYES WITHOUT A FACE (1960) mentioned, and the one that came to my mind first is not technically classified as horror, but much of LA BELLE ET LA BÊTE (1946) by Cocteau is genuinely frightening. One of the most gorgeous black and white films ever produced.

I mean, it probably is “Kwaidan,” but also love to “Nope,” “Bram Stoker’s Dracula,” “Suspiria” and “Inferno,” “Black Sunday,” “Cat People,” “The Bride of Frankenstein,” and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.”

I think the cook the thief his wife and her lover counts as horror. And the color changes, costuming, and tableau painting-like scene setting is some stunning stuff. I'd also add Brothers Quay just about anything to this list.
