While there are a ton of things about modern society that suck and are terrible, I have to admit; both the fact that I can watch a passionate animation group put out a top-tier animated pilot, then immediately order a plush and have it delivered to my house is super cool, I love modern technology

Recently, the creator of the VR Poker world was banned by VRChat for technically breaking the creator guidelines. They implemented a preemptive moderation system, due to the prevalence of hackers/cheater/client users abusing game mechanics/giving themselves in-game currency.
Given the recent emergence of worlds that use the World Persistence feature (in this case, persisting user currency across instances), I believe that this brings unique challenges related to gameplay integrity.
I am not sure what the solution is, however, I wanted to open this canny to start a discussion around the topic and to track that this is a problem that is now happening.
A couple ideas off the top of my head:

Update the Creator Guidelines to include a wider scope of what is or is not allowed in terms of cross-instance moderation
Create new Udon APIs/systems that allow for complex moderation/reports that can be automatically handled/generated by the world itself

Their platform is designed to make you never want to use anything else for digital communication. They want you to stay there so they can harvest more of your data and sell you more products. If discord restricts my access to content I want to view, I will simply go look for it elsewhere.

Additionally, genuine userbase exodus is far more effective than simply canceling a subscription. Statistically, people who cancel their subs in protest end up resubbing, but users who get engaged on a new platform tend to stay there. That's why Discord focuses so much on QOL in the first place!

Across the internet, migration has been the solution to corporate overreaching and censorship every single time. Discord will be no different. Is Discord super convenient for messaging? Absolutely, but I'm not willing to risk my personal identity for the sake of quality of life online.

A corporation bought out Tumblr and banned all NSFW content. People revolted by moving to Twitter and Tumblr became a shell of its former self. When Twitter got bought out and made worse, people migrated to Bluesky. When Skype got bought out and made worse, Discord rose up.
