going to try and put my painting chops to work. Been feeling pretty off with not making anything I feel super proud of, which means I need to make something with a bit more thought.

#abysm In context the sword's pretty nifty. Self reminder to actually finish the higher fidelity Matilda model

#abysm Finally a good visual of this sword that eats my lunch every time I draw it. Now it's 3d and animation ready >:) (alt text for lore)

The lore resides in the alt text:

The Armalithos are the ancient stone tools bound by the Abyss that impart the power of a certain fundamental concept upon the mazekin species within the infinite maze. Each tool, a different Armalith designated by a symbol, yields absolute mastery of that concept as a skill bestowed upon its soulbound user. Upon obliteration, the weapon calcifies and the power and soul of its defeated wielder returns to the Abyss, leaving a shell of the weapon behind.

Only a handful are known to exist, and Omega is by far the oldest. The Armalith of cutting, it specializes in the utility of bisection. It can, under the correct circumstance, cut anything in half. Without fail.

Billions of years old, potentially as old as the Abyss itself.

#Abysm Juno - The Cartographer. "Rumors began to swirl when she always emerged from dives into the Abyss alone, every squad in her company missing without a trace.... except for that scrappy green-haired knight. Not long after, a giant blade appeared in the carcass of the beast by the cliffs."

very thankful I don't work in the AAA at the moment, this is insane to have happen. Watching the US game-jobs sector burn down with no real executive accountability held is extremely unjust

Pile(BUN)ker. I usually don't work on this during the week, but I needed to unwind something fierce and this helps fight the bad brain bullshit. So, I spent time trying out audio for the execute. Made 5 different cam angles for the kill to reduce fatigue. I am pleased. #CherubDev #UE5 #GameDev

Current plan; WEAK state still a thing, but to trigger an Execute, you just hit them once with Lucky. I'm very unhappy with how much I was able to make use of the long weekend. Seems like I could never just focus. Guess that's the ADHD? Still new to this. I hear working out helps. #CherubDev #UE5

Sometimes it feels like, to the angry internet poster, games are just in the back kitchen waiting to be served up, and the developers are the service that brings them to their table. Like really, how do you enjoy a hobby and also actively hate the people that make the product EXIST?

Weekend done, time to hang it up. Many rough edges, but I'm still having fun. Going to completely rewrite the weapon grab mechanic. It's surprising how enjoyable an NPC with a basic (random attack + walk direction) type brain can be. Oh. I added an 808 kick to the Kill Confirm. #CherubDev #UE5

It doesn’t matter if they had other things for sale that don’t use it - the moment I see they’re willing to include AI slop in their product line, I lose all trust in their quality and professionalism (who did they inadvertently steal from?). Why spend MY money on something that’s not even “yours”?

Texas opinion columnist cares about public grocery stores on the opposite side of the country because 'muh socialisms' and 5/7 of their recent opinion pieces are right-winger straw grasping? We gotta stop giving these dorks platforms even in opinion columns.
