I don't have room for any more NVME SSDs because I already have a 2TB one so I only have room for a HDD or another SATA drive rn. I figured I'd just get a SATA. But I know that SSD drives fail out of nowhere with no warning so that also scares me. Is my only recourse just regular backups and pray??

000

Also while I'm ranting, (btw it was a stupid Seagate drive that died) I feel like it's so convoluted trying to research replacement drives. All the HDDs I looked at seemed unreliable, overpriced or they were for NAS storage and idk what that means for me I just want a hard drive.

Now I have to buy a mediocre and overpriced SATA SSD anyway and also live in fear that my stupid Samsung Evo 870 will kick the bucket sometime too For the price of recovering my data + getting a new drive I might as well just buy a new PC (which doesn't even solve the storage space problem UGH)

100

I fricking hate it here It wouldn't have killed me to be more diligent about backing stuff up but I just got lazy And damn the AI companies to hell for the insane HDD prices which is why I delayed replacing my drive so long to begin with

121

Recovery place says they can only do a partial recov 😔 also it's like $300... Bro... Do I just restore my 2024 backup (which is also only partial) and call it a day And then I caught some disgusting cold and spent the last 5 days suffering further

130

Hope your month has gone better than mine... One of my hard drives failed (the one I had all of my media stored on 🙃 including all my art hahaahaha that wasn't backed up since 2024 hahahahha that I knew was failing but procrastinated on replacing because HDD prices are crazy hahahah DON'T do that)

- potionomics: run a potions shop, befriend & romance fun charas including BOSS FINN my beloved - ledgerbound: complete a heroic quest and make the shareholders proud (so funny (raunchy humour but it was good) and romance very hot people) the VO is SO good. Insane cast and really fun characters

Speaking of Indies, I'm gonna make a proper promo thread for them but 3 indie recommendations from my Summer of Capitalism marathon in the last few months: - discounty: run a convenience store, solve the town's problems. Loved the item scan mechanic, plays really well on steamdeck

Also real talk... Prices of new games in Canada are insane... I'm glad I have a massive backlog of games (& ff14) & I play a lot of Indies. Gone are the days I'd preorder 4-5 AAA games at E3 time with all the sale discounts 😢 I miss you, 2012...Futureshop my beloved... At least I still have best buy

had to scrounge up best buy gift cards with my Microsoft reward points to get it physically even tho it cost more because screw the digital-only future While gamers are fighting Sony about it, they can't let Nintendo off the hook.

Baby's first fire emblem (But I have to finish Ledgerbound first real quick)

A picture of the physical copy of fire emblem fortune's weave

Awwww they're faces are sooo cute and angry

vanade @vanade.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

Waaaait this looks so fun, if I can scrounge up the energy, I'm gonna join along

I've always thought of the in-game gradiation in hair as like naturally growing hair of that colour, like how if you might have some hairs that always grow in white or are like half white but it WOULD be funny if he was dying those parts to match his armour lmao

My only weakness..... And spiders

Omg Unironically I would enjoy it more LOOOOL You know that PvP announcer mod with the NPCs commenting on duties? Someone should add shaxx voice lines to it 🤣 drifter too while we're at it. Alright alright alright, hive-voidsent on the board

020

I also don't know if I have any interest in tackling the harder boards tbh. I think I'm good. Need to farm mogtomes/finish ledgerbound/play fortune's weave when it comes out! (Also it's funny to me that BST's mode is the "crucible" and my brain drags up D2 PvP war memories when I read it lol)

130

I clawed my way through board 3 yesterday to finish up the BST storyline just for more content with him btw 🤣 I got all the beasts too but I'll prob just do the challenge log each week till I can get the hair. I'd LIKE the BST glowy weapon but levelling 50 beasts is so boring...

I don't go here but got this on my fyp and I will second that stranger's compliment! Beautiful elezen!!

I get the same feeling every September, maybe because it's when D2 came out but... Something about the slight chilliness of oncoming fall is so "destiny". I'll be walking home and it'll just hit me like a wave of homesickness.

was hit with a sudden melancholy this morning about, weirdly, festival of the lost a feeling that oh, I should be in destiny right now. I should be playing fotl some ghost of a feeling with the changing seasons

oh..... I really like the beastmaster job trainer... oh no also, beastmaster is so complimentary to being a hunter, I love that. feels like that could legit become mikh's main job (ignoring the no-msq restriction of it being a limited job)

wasn't too bad here all things considered!!! I saw it was real bad in Toronto tho, hope you were okay!

000

Hamiltonians are so unserious as usual, why is everyone just sitting outside, playing with their kids, walking their dogs

Whole bus got a tornado alert on our phones and everyone started looking out the windows, but the mood is very much "eh, anyway"

140

Anyway once again, stay safe Ontarians!! Hope I can get home before the rain/wind starts

vanade @vanade.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

Second severe storm alert warning on my phone this summer, which was freaky because I got it on the bus and other people did too Then I passed someone on the street who was using text to speech to hear the content of the message and it felt like I was in the beginning of an apocalypse movie

150

That is so great to hear!! Thank you (and glad to hear you're doing better too!) I'm so hopeful I can finally put these tired days behind me 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾

I'll keep that in mind! thanks, and hope your girlfriend is doing better! I'm really hoping it's just the deficiencies since they'd be easier to fix. I think prob the transition to wfh too since I don't get out of the house as often (thus, also abysmally bad vitamin d levels, even for this country)

thank you, me too!!! the most frustrating thing is if I'd not been shrugging off my mom's advice over the years I probably wouldn't be in this position lol, I stopped drinking milk daily and I don't like eggs/rarely eat fish and those would've helped a lot

Update on this: my iron (duh), vitamin D and vitamin B12 levels were soooooo low... Doc prescribed me supplements so I hope to see some improvement over the next 3 months. I honestly thought it would be a thyroid issue but there's nothing wrong there thankfully. But yeah... Mystery finally solved?

I had a big brain moment and realized I could put patches inside the cover-on-cover without ironing them to the cover itself... So those starlink patches can finally see the light of day instead of the dark safety of my drawer 🥹

A starlink initiative patch from the game starlink: battle for atlas, inside the front cover of an A6 hobonichi planner cover-on-cover

Activated my wordle trauma

I'm in Toronto about twice a month for classes (not this weekend but next), and then a weekend in October and November so if that works let me know! Or if you're ever in Hamilton like for Supercrawl or something (or I can mail them to a PO box or something!)

000

(also thank you 🥺 I'm touched!!! Those ships were so hard to shrink to that size 🤣 I came out of that with such an appreciation for them + the character designs)

aw, no payment necessary (but if you insist, an iced capp is all I'll accept 😋) I'd just be happy to get them into someone's hands who wants them! All the better that it's someone who worked on the game. Starlink was so special! All the interactions I've had with everyone involved are great memories

vanade @vanade.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

I've never played a fire emblem game (the gameplay isn't my thing) but the character designs in fortune's weave were literally made for me, dude I'm playing ledgerbound right now and my backlog is IMMEASUREABLE but... I'm preordering

congrats!!!!!!! he's already SO hot and now he's going to have a certified 100% banger voice?! it's over for me

vanade @vanade.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

Aw 🥺 he lives another day!! The zenith will always be my fave of the ships... If you ever want spares for safety I have a bunch of leftovers (though apparently vinyl stickers get a bit stinky over time in storage... did not foresee that 😶)

my pièce de résistance... went to the ROM a few weeks ago but they didn't have much I could glue into my book so I just used my own photos and the guide map brochure (which I refused to cut btw, it's still 100% functional except like one of the basement levels on the back is glued down)

A spread in my journal with a glued down map brochure from the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) featuring various photos from the ancient nubia exhibit glued on top. The page also has a subway transfer ticket and library checkout print.

Intro and page 1 of the ROM brochure featuring some photos of the exhibits

Pages 2 and 3 of the exhibit brochure featuring more photos glued on overtop

000

Damn, I forgot one 😔 it's spoilery but NOT adult content, I just didn't wanna spoil ppl

A spread of nikaido and caiman/aikawa panels from the Dorohedoro manga

More dorohedoro spreads I finished ages ago lol. I almost thought about making a dedicated manga collage book next year but that would be testing my luck to stay committed so nah. Spoilers, you've been warned.

A journal spread of Ai from the Dorohedoro manga featuring fave panels layered on a background of yama budo ink splatters

A pop-out page spread of favourite risu-aikawa scenes from dorohedoro

A little later than I planned but I went to the doctor this week (for random bppv attack) and i'm getting bloodwork done this week so 🤞🏾

ever since Zenos (and then later, nhaza'a jaab), I took a liking to the characterization of my WoL being not just an adventurer but someone who lives for the thrill of a great hunt and a bigger prey/fight. so "Of the Endless Hunt" was a no-brainer for a fitting title, but 10,000 A-Ranks was SO MUCH

vanade @vanade.bsky.social · 17/08/2026

I distinctly remember being at home and using the yellow handheld radio my parents got with Air Miles to try to catch a broadcast hahaha what a different time

vanade @vanade.bsky.social · 17/08/2026

I'm doneee the grind omg got my 5000th S-Rank yesterday during S-Rank Day and my 10,000th (!!!) A-Rank today on a ShB/EW train. I'm torn between which title I want to flaunt rn (Ultimate Thrillseeker vs Of The Endless Hunt). Of the Endless Hunt has been my longterm goal ever since I got into hunts
