mike @vagabondvivant.com · 8hI'm hoping that's all it is, but it still feels like there's a "Por qué no los dos" angle to it, especially after Jan 6. Either he doesn't plan on leaving or he's gonna claim cheating and hand it to the Republican nominee, regardless of the election outcome. But hopefully I'm just being paranoid. 100

mike @vagabondvivant.com · 10hPeople who are 1s and 2s, a question: When you "see" the apple, how do you see it? Is it projected onto the back of your eyelids, like it's actually in front of you? Or do you just conceptualize it in your brain? 100

mike @vagabondvivant.com · 05/10/2026I just realized that the age of smartphones means that there's no longer any such things as a fast or slow watch. We all keep exactly the same time. This might seem like a nothingburger to some, but in this tiny, subtle societal change is profoundly significant in a way I can't quite explain. 010

mike @vagabondvivant.com · 04/10/2026Phrasing it as why it "doesn't work" is some bold blame-shift there. It "doesn't work" because car and oil companies killed it, the same way they killed trolly cars, which used to be ubiquitous throughout metros across the country. 080
mike @vagabondvivant.com · 04/10/2026Actually, on reflection, it's probably more a mispronunciation than anything else. Playing "tag" makes sense. You tag the other person, and they are now "it." "Tig" isn't even a word. It is, however, how I'd expect "tag" to be pronounced with certain accents. 200

mike @vagabondvivant.com · 04/10/2026Yeah, the font is the same size as on the Kindle (I have it at 12pt). The only real difference is the smaller reading area, so I'm turning the "page" more often. But the locations of the side buttons makes it easy. Unlike with the Kindle, I don't need to move my hand or use the other to turn pages. 210
