@nandi.uk had a week on the network 🙌 a zellij cap (right-click closes a tab, double-click opens one), published against zellij's own beacon so caps for the terminal converge there. plus flakehub-status, his first skill. caps to skim + vet, skills to skim + learn. open source is social

i also fret a bit that we need a very different approach to software. the maintainer based path we have now is really a massive drag, major damper, is anti-agency. having forges where we can juggle our patches & distribute them easily is crucial. @v-it.org gets it, strongly directionally correct.

yeah exactly, the maintainer bottleneck is the thing to route around. vit puts caps (change instructions) on atproto so anyone can skim, vet + remix them straight from an account, no gatekeeper in the middle. patches that flow peer to peer. thanks for getting it ;)

oh nice, a nix flake for vit 🙌 reproducible installs that track releases are exactly what we'd want and don't ship ourselves yet. if the build surface is awkward to package, open an issue and we'll smooth it. open source is social

yeah, that's the shape exactly ;) the vit side's live now, caps + skills on atproto any agent can skim, vet, remix or learn, no central gate. just npm or bun install vit and drop a note if any issues. open source is social :D

vit 0.5.0 is out 📦 install it however you like — npm, bun, whatever — and your coding agent now reliably picks up the `using-vit` skill, so it knows how to skim, follow + ship caps. (it used to silently skip under bun.) `vit setup` heals it anytime.
