Does Basic Income Cause Divorce? 50 Years of Evidence Says No. It’s a bit of a shame that many Americans feel uneasy about getting help from the government, even though they’re often okay with billions going to billionaires for special projects.

Does Basic Income Cause Divorce? 50 Years of Evidence Says No.
The 1970s fear that UBI breaks up families came from a statistical error. Finland, Canada, Kenya, and Alaska show no rise in divorce, and instead better relationships with less domestic violence.

“Would gov abuse their power?” When I tell people my phone has been hacked and hacked again and no one believes me and the police pretend like they don’t know anything and give advice that no one but IT administrators would understand… Live in 🇲🇽 for a while and they treat you like a criminal

One of the knock-on benefits of Universal Basic income, would be that people would not need to waste time on forms, and could use that time for projects, growing vegetables and many many more things.
"Being poor is actually a full-time job & being
broke is like a full-time job with the amount of
paperwork and the time going from office to
office proving what you have done.

With Universal Basic Income all that would
be eliminated with the time liberated to do
something socially productive."

Hathliday in Utopia argued that when the king enclosed the commons he created unwilling criminals because it blocked people from the resources they needed to survive The death penalty for stealing bread didn’t work But if the theft of the commons caused crime the restoration would reverse it

I think we should start painting everyone who is against UBI as soft on crime. Crime stems largely from desperation. Give people some real hope to improve their lives and crime will go down. Also the billionaires are driving people to desperation and causing the crime.

The Year is 5030. The Four Millionth Test of UBI confirms that it works and does not make people not work, reduces poverty, improves mental health, and clears people's skin. It continues not to be adopted by any major political party. A new trial of the efficacy of UBI begins.

They claimed the land up, more than could every need or use, excluded everyone from it using the laws of man and violence and then demand a fee for it They didn’t create the Earth. And God, if he’s or she is fair, would say that everyone get a fair share of his creation. As would Mother Nature

I’ve argued among many others that you are not poor because of anything you’ve done but simply because you’ve been born later than other people into societies that operate exactly like the game of Monopoly Predecessors claimed up the land & resources nature meant for all & now price gouge its use

In the past people had cabin rights If you put up a cabin you’d own the land on it That took 4 days after gathering materials Not 30 years - 4 days… 4 days They took that away from people The USA took homes away from people and then called those people failures

Millions of people will never own homes because of this The banks get free credit to create money to buy homes and own them off debtors default Wealthy companies have the money to buy these homes but not the people How democratic is this country if citizens don’t even get support for homes?

They say we’re better off than being ruled by kings but we have the same conditions: - closed commons are blockade of the public’s resources necessary for food and shelter. instead of dispossession of homelands people both today have no land to start - taxes are tribute - slave to work

If you are forced to pay tribute, do forced labor or a form of slavery to a single king or a group of people in a government what’s the difference? Without a UBI y a commons we still have oppressive domination: • Tribute (minhah) • Corvée / Forced labor (mas) • Chattel / wage slavery (ebed)

We’ve already done the biggest pilot for UBI for decades just under another name - Social Security It works But it’s strange that we haven’t done pilots for peace, or pilots for subsidies for corporations, or pilots for 300:1 ceo to worker pay, or pilots for blockade of our commons, or

If she thinks paying taxes for public maintenance is expensive she should see the cost of not having public maintenance And in a way, we aren’t addressing poverty and inequality and it’s costing us $5 trillion a yr in damage control… Experts estimate preventative UBI would reduce that 10:1

If homelessness was caused by bad decisions we’d all be homeless It costs maybe $4000-$7000 upfront costs to move into a new apartment If they have any money at all and if they can find a job that pays the monthly rent are entirely new challenges many can’t overcome and the reality is they don’t
