This one made me Feel Something, I'll say that. I still think about it from time to time. It's not a long or difficult read, give it a go.

ai people are such mental children. their ideal world is a version of star trek where they can go "computer. generate me my most favoritest food (macaroni and cheese). NO vegetable" and then they sit and eat it alone

Getting fragments of discourses is awesome. Squinting at my phone trying to figure out why anyone gives a shit which country songs people know. Refusing to look further into that it's way funnier not knowing

I say this with both love and disdain, as a lifelong gamer and media studies bitch. A lot of video game personalities are just WILDLY credulous dipshits. That "I treat the Xbox layoffs as a separate issue from how stoked I am about NEW HALO BRO" shit should get you bullied off the internet, man.

The way my social circles and hobbies overlap leads to a lot of funny shit. I've seen like twelve different people going "gamers hate the new resident evil film for not sticking to the LORE but I loved it" and I've seen less than zero game friends mad at this film lol everyone seems to love it?

I'm curious if I give off the impression that I am primarily a retrogamer. I'm not but I have a specific weekly friend group that gets together to do game studies by playing older games. I see people conflating liking these games at all with Only Liking Them, which I feel is baby-taste cope

I'm actually a pretty avid reader and gamer but you barely know about it here because I'm normal. So I am almost exclusively blowing up people I actually know with my takes and screenshots and reactions lol

I could make up a rational sounding reason for this but truthfully it's just vibes for me: the word `comfy` is dogshit. It's gotta go.

Happy Control Resonant release to the people who uh, wanted it to be Dylan Faden Devil May Cry I guess. Fascinating.

I'm launching a long-planned local campaign table this morning. Fabula Ultima, using the Technofantasy Atlas. My players and several others have attended my lectures on video game RPG history with a focus on JRPGs and the way hardware limitations and costs led to design trends.

Bless to those folks who really "you saved me some money" on wayward posts about a new movie/book/whatever. Not a care on earth just believing anything the last person they ran into says to them. Incredible way to live

Also with regard to my previous repost (below), I dislike art without credits so I went digging. this poster was done for Newtype magazine by Jun Suemi who you may elsewise know for doing all that sick art for the Wizardry games back in the day (also below).

Some people play retro games to feel nostalgic warmth. I've mostly been playing ones I've never seen before as both study and a hangout with some friends. I was like negative a year old for some of the 80s ones I did this year, not a big nostalgia draw. Still pretty interesting to experience

I like to push my boundaries on the regular just to see if they've moved, ya know? I got this medium sized sweet lemonade berry type thing at Dunkin and had such a viscerally negative reaction to it that it caught my lover off-guard. I am still not a sweets girl I guess.

Maybe a better comparison would be Doom Eternal. In that the best part of this game is the fights and from the demo it seems you spend a lot of your time doing other shit that isn't that. Following your oni detective vision to markers. Too much game time spent on things that aren't the good part

100

Ash's Ashes @uponashensands.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Hmm. The onimusha demo was fun but not seventy USD fun. Fights were cool but replacing what used to be kind of compact room adventure game puzzling as interstice with like, god of war block and platform moving bullshit that takes longer is not interesting to me.

Blocking and muting is so good, man. You've never in your life needed a reason to block someone. They're just text on your phone. Less than that soon if they're being annoying!

look as a bonafide pervert if you tell me she eats enemies in the new game and it's just another tales of berseria absorbing arm deal i'm gonna be disappointed man. that is like the hays code approved version of lesbian cannibal fiction lol

Hi everyone, Because of a power outage that lasted two nights, we need help making up some costs for both spoiled groceries and lodgings. I'm hoping to raise roughly $300. We appreciate all donations and boosts. Thank you all so much!

Hi all,

We had a power outage a few days ago that lasted two nights. Thankfully it's back on now, but because of the high temperatures, we were required to find other lodgings until the power was back on. We also had to throw out nearly all our refrigerated groceries, which we're having to replace. We could use help making up the cost for both the lodgings and new groceries, which I'm estimating to be about $300.

We appreciate any donations or boosts! Thank you all so much again!

hiring trans women would be nice, but tbh I’d also just accept a big pile of cash. like, maybe in one of those dollar sign bags? or a bathtub full of gold coins? I’ll take an oversized check too, but I won’t respect it.
