MOHAI workers announced the formation of a union today, with more than 70% of eligible rank-and-file workers signing cards with CWA Local 7800. They are asking for voluntary recognition from the Seattle museum. Some of their core demands include pay equity, transparency and benefits for part-timers.

What we really need to do, what we really should work on as a movement, is reeducating about the importance of unions, organizing unions across professions. People keep yelling about a national strike but there's literally no structure in place to make that a reality right now.
