very old mermaid character design SHRIMP MERMAID !!! ✨✨✨🦐 #mermay #art #characterdesign #digitalpainting #weirdart

digital art of a shrimp mermaid person. no gender specific. blue body with light blue and silver underbelly. dark blue spots and strips pattern the body. some translucent pink top shell run down the shrimp tail.
two long antenna and cheek tendrils.
They have 6 arms and two large yellow eyes.
pink long hair flowing out. Happy, bubbly open mouth smile excited to see you!

they wear a translucent green top, that's probably made of seaweed.

I did not draw a background, it's left as a white void, why on earth didn't I do the bare minimum of having the OCEAN behind them.

You know how everyone who goes to the gym loves to lift weights but hates doing cardio? As a writer that feeling is matched by "creating an OC" versus "establishing a supporting cast."

The Black Sea at Night - Ivan Konstantinovič Ajvazovskij, 1879

Nearly monochrome painting of a calm sea looking like its name under a full moon. A three-masted ship breaks the reflection of the moon on the water.

On a non-too-far-side-tangent... My mom taught me how to cross-stitch before she passed away and it was only after starting to get into game dev that I really started to love and appreciate cross-stitch. Printing pixel art by hand onto fabric is something else. bsky.app/profile/gord...

I get this question a lot. I don't have strong views on how transmasc people should dress, but since I often get the question, I've thought about it a bit. Will share some thoughts in this thread. 🧵

Someone on Twitter writes: "Derek would you ever consider doing a thread on how transmascs can dress well and have clothing that helps hides hips and stuff? Only advice I've gotten are straight leg jeans and a boxy shirt"

Illustration of a merman with an eel-like body reclined upside down in blood/bloody water. Blood rolls off of his chest and body and he looks almost dead... If not for the small smile on his face. You can barely make out the cluster of skulls he is resting atop of.

Ao3 will never delete your fics to conserve server space. The entire point of Ao3 is to be an archive to preserve fics no matter what. 'Deprecated' is basically tech speak for 'old/obsolete' which isn't a thing when it comes to Ao3 or fandom content hosted on Ao3. Don't fall for this!

Excluding legacy brands and juggernauts like Precure, I’m going to go with Fairy Ranmaru. It meant a lot to me to see a team of high-femme magical boys kicking ass. There were some great visuals and themes and the story kept me on my toes.

THE RED STEP (1988) Acrylic on Canvas - 44" x 33" The initial impetus for doing the painting was being stuck in the first real artistic block I've ever had. I was probably clinically depressed. 1/4

Trailing long shadows, small robed figures climb a monumental set of stairs leading through a massive wall. The rough concrete exterior is grimy, rust stained, and worn through to rebar in patches while the side walls forming the passage are glossy and smooth. On the other side, the sun burns pale behind layers of thick fog. The last three steps tint golden with the transition to a flat platform. Low in the sky beyond, a transparent sphere containing a solitary flame flares in a starburst that casts a glare back down the stairs. Light intersects a squat red step nearly hidden—despite its color—because it spans less than one-third the width of the transitional steps. Only one figure, now nearing the top of the stairs, is illuminated by the light that crosses it.

The full thing! ( 1/2 )

The text "Shen Comix: Untitled Wolf / Sheep Comic (The Whole Thing)". The word "wolf" is stylized with wolf grey, light grey, and brown, with the "W" having a wolf tail and the "F" being a wolf claw. The word "sheep" look like it's made of wool, with a sheep ear on the "S" and the "P" and two ribbons on the two "E"s (blue, then reddish pink) making them look like small sheep. Also, there is the head of a wolf in a sheep costume in the top left, and the head of a sheep in the top right.

Panel 1: A wolf is in a sheep costume with a yellow ribbon on the neck. He's in a flock of sheep. He's thinking "Hehehe... They don't know I'm really a wolf."

Panel 2: A few of the sheep have approached the wolf. One is touching his 'wool', saying "oh my gosh, your wool is so soft!" Another is touching his ribbon, saying "and your ribbon is so pretty!"

Panel 3: The sheep are pulling him along with them somewhere, saying "c'mon, let's go dance in the meadow!" and "let's dance and graze!" He is smiling and beginning to blush.

Panel 4: Two wolves are sitting at a campfire. One has his head in his hands. The other is saying "It's been 4 days, where the hell is he."

Panel 1: A wolf dressed as a sheep with a yellow ribbon around his neck is dancing in a circle with a bunch of actual sheep, hands joined. They are all laughing merrily.

Panel 2: Closeup of the wolf laughing, having a good time just dancing together.

Panel 3: Still that closeup but he he now tied up in the dark somewhere.

Panel 4: We zoom out to see that he's tied up sitting on a rock in the forest, with two other wolves from his pack standing to either side of him. One is saying "we're definitely gonna have to do some 'de-programming' here."

Panel 5: The other wolf puts his head on the sheep-wolf's head and says "don't worry, buddy! We'll get you back to your regular wolf self in no time."

Panel 6: All three of them are now dressed as sheep and dancing in the circle.

Panel 1: A sheep is standing with a blank expression holding a hoof-glove in one of his hooves.

Panel 2: It's revealed that he took it off of a wolf in a sheep costume with a yellow ribbon. Maybe he tried to take the wolf by the hand and the glove game off, revealing his wolf claw, which is now outstretched towards him.

Panel 3: The sheep has an expression of absolute horror looking at the wolf. He says "you ... y-your ..."

Panel 4: The sheep, still with a horrified expression, looks down at the hoof and yells "YOUR HOOF FELL OFF!!!!"

Panel 5: Two sheep are carrying the wolf on a stretcher and one is running alongside with the hoof glove. The wolf is holding his claw up vertically like it's a broken hand.

Since the term AI has been poisoned by generative world-burning stuff, we're going to have to go back to calling video game AI routines "the computer." I couldn't beat the final boss because the computer was being cheap, etc.
