after half-a-dozen false starts, i'm in it for the long haul this time....this is my malazan review thread 😌 and I REALLY need folks to talk to about it with 🥺

cover art for malazan book of the fallen, depicting a woman with flowing blond hair and wearing armor arm bracers looking at a city surrounded by flames and smoke. Two figures stand to her sides. Flying over the city is a large floating island with a city built on it. Crows wheal around it.

#GoodShipLaneave crew what are you thoughts on Nyn's and Lan's journeys this season, each separately i mean? ive reconciled they are not quite their book versions, but Nyn is still my fave character of the show #wotskies #renewwot

i still can't get over how perfectly @andyscrase.bsky.social and team captured the mechanics of balefire, i wonder if they had any other ideas that were rejected, also i cant wait to see what they do with balefire on a larger scale 👀

three panels of a scene from the wheel of time, showing Elayne using a rod to fire a purple beam of balefire at Jaine the darkfriend

#TheWheelOfTime #WotSkies Is Siuan your favorite character in a normal way or is she your favourite character in a "life is too short not to spend an hour editing tiny Sophie Okonedo's heads on a promo poster" way? (If you wonder how that happened, don't. Blame the old me from a few months back)

Promo picture for the season 3 of The Wheel of Time with every single character's face replaced with Siuan's. The characters are all standing in rows between thin glass columns. Siuan has a different animated expression each time: dubious, smug, laughing, thinking, exclaiming, tired, etc.

So I've restarted Malazan for the fifth(?) time after I realized it reminded me of The Wire, in that while it has some recurring characters here and there, they are merely cogs in the complex ecosystem of the city of Baltimore, and that the city itself is the main character of the show.

I've decided that my two most favorite scenes in the entire series are the prayer scene with Lan in s1e4 and the Moggy compulsion scene in s3e6, so even if show Nynaeve is different to book Nynaeve, she still means everything to me 🙂‍↕️ #TheWheelOfTime #WoTSkies

Rand's descent and channeling are turning out to be my favorite scenes in the entire show, Josha is incredible as we all suspected he would be, but I am honestly surprised that I feel that way because I'm not the biggest Rand fan. Also makes me giddy to see more crazy men channeling #WoTBookSpoilers

The wheel of time version of the Steve Buscemi trying to dress like a teenage youth, in a red sweatshirt and turned back baseball baseball cap, with a skateboard over his shoulder, except he is now Elayne Trakand with dark eyeshadow and a white taraboner headwrap, his shirt now says “hills of Tanchico” with thunder bolts between them. There is also two trolloc nipple decals on the eyes of one of the skateboard decals. The caption reads “how do you do, fellow Taraboners ?”

A screen shot of a tweet about the teaser by Discussing Film, with nearly 9000 likes

A tweet by Targ_Nation who has over 40k followers, who says "a fantasy show with a queer lead, amazing world building, great performances, bad ass visuals and stunts and it has gotten progressively better with each season. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOUR NEEDS TO TUNE TF IN". The post has 3.1k likes

A tweet of the teaser by He Who Tweets with The Dawn that has over 6k likes

A tweet by Gery of Rand in various screenshots from the teaser, that says "We are so back, look at my boy".

It has 638 likes

oooh good point. will something replace the jungle WayGate in my heart? BeachGate came close but not quite #WoTSkies pictured: that time I was a WayGate for Jcon

a pic of me with a cowboy hatted smiley covering my face. I'm wearing a jungle print long dress in dark green and beige, my rather short badge beard. my arms are raised holding the edges of my cloak. Painted on the inside of the cloak is a waygate (each half appearing on either side of my body), with vines all over them, a couple of palm trees, against a pale sky blue background.

A lounge near a pool, with a large yellowish green leaning couch as the focus of the image. On the couch, lounging on its side, is effectively a “person” shape made out of cartoon Stone WayGates. The base WayGate has a raise platform with steps leading up it, and two large stone spires on either side of the dais of the platform, flat on the platform side, and curved on the outside. There is one large Waygate as the head & torso, resting the side of its “head” on the one arm of the couch, blushing from where cheeks would be. A dark void exists in the area between the spires, and the brown line which represents the second to last step have faint hairy trolloc nipples on either end. A second Waygate is attached below to create legs, and the steps portion is shaded black like shorts. Two half WayGates are used to make arms, the one closest to the couch is curved to rest on their cheek, and the opposite arm is curved to rest on their hip, seductively.

Chose 20 books that have influenced you. A little explanation, no reviews, and cover. 💙🦋📚 #BookSky #BookChallenge Book 5: Pride and Prejudice Surprisingly hilariou with arguably one of the most toxic family's in fiction and one of the greatest characters ever written in romance, Mr Bennet

A cover of a book showing a simple drawing of three women and a man. The man is dressed in a suit and top hat, and has a lady in a red dress on his right arm and a lady in a blue dress on his left. The three of them are tall and hold themselves upright, and are well dressed, the women wearing elaborate dresses and shawls and bonnets. A third woman is walking away from them while waving her hand in apology. She is dressed in a more simple yellow dress with a straw bonnet.
Text on the cover reads "Pride and Prejudice, illustrated edition, Jane Austen"
