Vera-Ellen “Baby” Firefly, Cutter “Captain Spaulding” Jones, Otis B. Driftwood

I’m watching horror movies with my 9-year old son. Tonight we watched Krampus. This is his review.

KRAMPUS
Krampus 2015
"Alright. 9.5 out of 10. It would have been 10 if they were all smart. And like...l mean...uh. How they all like...uh...sorta like...I feel like they all sat there at the end. Just sort of waiting for something to happen. I'm gonna play the PlayStation."

bsky’s open, quote one (or three) picture(s) of your cat(s) to promote your cat(s). (Loomis, Dusty, & Vixen)

A black cat with green eyes inside another black cat with green eyes

The most beautiful grey kitty in the world

Vixen can’t mew, so she used to have to wear a bell so we could find her if she needed help

InspiroBot is wild. These are the first four generated posters.

Finally, my top-4 favorite 2023 covers that I own.

Black Cloak - Kelly Thompson, Meredith McClaren, Becca Carey The third Thompson book in my top-10, this fantasy/noir story feels like it could rival Saga in its epicness. I hope it has a long run.

151

The Nasty - John Lees, George Kambadais, Adam Cahoon A teenager sets out to make a video nasty with his friends…and one of those friends is an imaginary slasher who turns out to be the ultimate SFX dude. This is fun as hell.

100

Ghostlore - Cullen Bunn, Brian Hurtt, Leomacs Supernatural horror story of a father/daughter who survive tragedy, and then have to live with the repercussions. Very much my shit.

100

Rumpus Room - Mark Russell, Ramón Rosanas Russell continues to be my favorite satirist in comics. This one mixes in tension and horror, and I can’t wait to see how he wraps it up.

Hack/Slash: Back to School - Zoe Thorogood Thorogood breathed fresh life into a property I had no intention of continuing. Feels like a fun 90s teen slasher, and I’ve absolutely loved the first two issues.

100

Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees - Patrick Horvath, Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou Jesus Christ. The darkness of the material & the adorableness of the characters is jarring. Very much my shit, and I love the storybook variants.

100

Kill Your Darlings - Ethan S. Parker, Griffin Sheridan, Bob Quinn, John J. Hill Another book where the artwork just perfectly suits the material. Im an issue behind, but Rose & Elliot have quickly become favorites of mine.

The Cull - Kelly Thompson, Mattia de Iulis, Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou The story is great, it feels like a great horror/sci-fi romp from my youth, and I was almost instantly invested in the characters. But it’s the art that takes my breath away. I’ve never seen anything like it.

w0rldtr33 - James Tynion IV, Fernando Blanco, Jordie Bellaire PH34R and the undernet are wrecking havoc on the world, and I’m so here for it. Tynion does the edge of apocalypse masterfully, and Blanco’s art perfectly suits the story.
