A squad of players that got the last manager sacked by not being very good. Some of them got the manager before that sacked by not being very good. Some even the manager before that. 6 months in, 3 attackers out and just one rookie wingback in are the only squad changes. What do we expect?

The one touch passing certainly was much better with him there. It’s essential to move the ball quicker and drag players out of position. Certainly think he offers a lot there. Should have scored first half too

This second half display from Bruno Fernandes has been as complete as I’ve seen. Really deserved for that last chance to hit the net. Kobbie Mainoo really looking good in an advanced role too. #MUFC

That’s an archetypal Amorim goal that. Cut back from from one side to the wing back area on the other side. #MUFC

Yeah we’re not really seeing Maz doing it as much. But yeah it’s certainly a facet he wants in his wide CBs. Honestly this system will work so much better when we have better attacking players at WB

Controlled the game well without providing much threat. Just that Kobbie chance and the Hojlund header really. Not much coming from wide, Martinez if anyone looking the most likely creator and don’t know what that says really #MUFC

Yeah just barely holding on. People forget they’re not only responsible for the debt but the misappropriation of funds by letting unqualified people make football decisions and waste hundreds of millions in poor transfer and contract decisions

100% mate. We all wanted a full sale but I think that was never on the table, hence JR changing his bid mid process to a partial investment. When the next balloon payments are due he’ll more than likely offer funds for equity, as the club won’t be able to afford them.

Bit weird the narrative he wants to milk the club like the Glazers. He’s a multi billionaire with funds the Glazers could only wish to have. Why would he put what he has into United only to be able to take £5-10m a year in dividends. That’s very much the thin end of the wedge for him.

I find it odd the support wanna turn on Ratcliffe. He's the guy who thinks he can turn things around. He's our only hope right now. I don't for a second think his motive is anything other than trying to fix the club He's our only hope. That he can ruthlessly get the club back on a solid footing.

Side note from the football, atmosphere is dreadful. Only noise you can hear is the United fans with a smattering of “Fulham” or the odd boo. In this the kind of atmosphere SJR wants along with Fulham’s prices? #MUFC

A very functional performance tonight. Wasn’t great but we got the win. Think anyone with eyes can tell you where we’re lacking. WB and an attacker is a must this month. We picked up much more once Zirkzee came on and he brought players in to the game much more. #MUFC

As predicted the Eriksen/Casemiro midfield overrun. The full backs basically making a back 5, with no pace up front bar Amad and Hojlund we have little chance of breaking #MUNNEW

Not a fan at all. Eriksen and Casemiro will get overrun by that Newcastle midfield and the 2 full backs at wing back is far too defensive.

If what’s been said is true then it’s hard to argue with removing him. Being the chief protagonist for pushing for ETH to get more time to insisting on Gareth Southgate to replace him then it’s certainly a move that I back. Not sure where it leaves us elsewhere though.

Against the backdrop of the recent ticket price hikes at United, I’d love to know how much it’s costing for Dan Ashworth to leave the club after *5 months*

I’d heard murmurings that Ratcliffe blamed Ashworth for the decision to keep Ten Hag on when things started to go wrong. Not saying that’s true or even the reason but it wouldn’t surprise me. Either way, mightily embarrassing after the faff of getting him in in the first place

unitedtalk.bsky.social @unitedtalk.bsky.social · 08/12/2024
Shocking. Again obviously not privy to what happens behind the scenes but there was clearly disagreements with how the club should move forward. If Ashworth really was championing Southgate then that says a lot

unitedtalk.bsky.social @unitedtalk.bsky.social · 07/12/2024
Yoro will come good too. Too early to say so as he’s only just fit. Under Ashworth both England and Brighton have used a back 3.

unitedtalk.bsky.social @unitedtalk.bsky.social · 07/12/2024
So Ashworth and Wilcox are just invisible? Ashworth has long been a champion of the 3-4-3 / 3-5-2. ETH was never their man & he stayed for the lack of a better alternative. Well the new manager for a start. Ugarte and Mazraoui have been good signings.

Yeah, same. He’s been poor all season and seems very exposed in that LCB role. Seems to have lost sharpness since his injury issues and goes to ground way too quickly (something that De Ligt and Maguire both do - basically we need pace at the back)

Players are poor. The management know it. SJR even said in his interview with UWS we are a mediocre team. The only common denominators are the players. JM, Ole, RR & ETH all let down by the same core group

unitedtalk.bsky.social @unitedtalk.bsky.social · 07/12/2024
They were in a no win scenario. Sack him and fans pile on because they’re being ungrateful & disloyal. Although they had seen the bigger picture & were proved right. Probably should have sacked him earlier but was probably too late at that point anyway.
010
unitedtalk.bsky.social @unitedtalk.bsky.social · 07/12/2024
I don’t think that’s true at all. Without INEOS & the football structure they put in place we would have never attracted Amorim or a manager of his calibre. He said as much in his 1st interview. If EW was still running the show we’d have Potter as manager or at best Frank

unitedtalk.bsky.social @unitedtalk.bsky.social · 07/12/2024
They certainly dropped a bollock in the summer. Then should have sacked him in the first international break. Hopefully they’ve learned their lesson.

Amad has been brilliant and should be one of the few the team is built around
000
unitedtalk.bsky.social @unitedtalk.bsky.social · 07/12/2024
A lot goes on behind closed doors that we don’t see. He was the highest paid player bar Rashford & had some utterly dreadful performances in his last season. Ugarte has been one of the better players, his energy & tenacity in regaining the ball has been invaluable. Without him we’d be even worse
000
unitedtalk.bsky.social @unitedtalk.bsky.social · 07/12/2024
I wouldn’t disagree. Average RB at best even worse at LB
011
unitedtalk.bsky.social @unitedtalk.bsky.social · 07/12/2024
Agree 100% on Dalot, he’s a midtable RB and even worse at LB. Constant poor decision making and final ball means whenever we play the left side of the pitch is basically fruitless. More quality & depth needed all over the pitch
000
unitedtalk.bsky.social @unitedtalk.bsky.social · 07/12/2024
De Gea was at the end of his time and he should have been replaced. Whether we replaced him well enough is another matter. Bruno was shattered, we needed fresh legs there, same as Ugarte. Fernandes can’t constantly play 90 every game. It’s just counter productive.

Same here. He’s one of many who are mediocre at best.
