Ultimately, the Premier League can go on without City. Having City continue in the PL will damage the league far more because anger will give way to apathy because no fan will treat games against City with any merit. The integrity of the league will be permanently compromised.

If this demonstrates anything it is that City are little more than a foreign policy instrument. Their fans are not treated as custodians, they’re unpaid ‘ambassadors’ of the UAE.

Manchester City cheated Premier League rules, the Commission found. Did it also cheat HMRC? We've examined the decision and leaked Mancini documents. We think City likely failed to pay £12m in tax. There should be a criminal investigation. Thread:

This surely also should be a moment to comprehensively review the ownership model of English clubs. Clubs shouldn’t be in the hands of nation states or vulture capitalists to begin with.

City came out with their response in double quick time. If City fans had anything about them they’d turn on their owners. The club as they know it may cease to exist.

The players who were signed should be questioned by reporters if they were made aware by City of the findings. Were City honest with their new recruits?

Worth considering that Man City is effectively a sportswashing project. It was meant to reflect Abu Dhabi in a positive light & currently the opposite is the case Ridding themselves of City could be the most pragmatic choice to protect their reputation City fans could be in for a rude awakening

What were players & agents who joined City in the midst of this investigation thinking? They can’t claim ignorance to this independent panel’s work. They went into this eyes open. Also will this news dissuade other players from considering 114? Has to be the thinking now.

What punishment could Man City face after Premier League charges verdict and will they appeal?
It has taken more than two years, but a judgement finally appears to have been made on the 115 charges levelled against Man City. Here's what it means.

Note regarding the players and agents who knew that charges were hanging over City, why weren’t they more aware? Why did they think they’d miss any fall out? Players who joined City can’t claim ignorance nor can the likes of Maresca.

That’s it’s taken this long to announce any kind of verdict on the 115 charges is a stain on the reputation of the PL. Now the next stage is sanctions & it should be severe. City fans should direct their anger at the owners who have played them like a fiddle. They won’t though.
