my issues with the current state of "cute" things in warcraft is 1. they do sacrifice the grittier atmosphere and are so heavily prioritized and 2. almost none of it is actually cute it's all very tasteless and kind of gross to look at

reassuring a WoW writer that bad things can permanently affect characters and you can let uncertainty linger for narrative tension, there is a genre called tragedy. I wave copies of Harry Potter and Pokemon to maintain their attention and calm because they are starting to get uncomfortable
