🧵 ICE is about to open a new facility for unaccompanied kids in Alexandria, Louisiana -- inside an airport to speed deportations. ICE plans to pack kids into planes, fly them into risk of trafficking. CEO of the new ICE facility contractor says kids are 'voluntarily departing.' I call bullshit.

The Disney renaissance movies used to look different. They were planned to be printed on 35 mm film -- that's how they were first released. Modern editions skip that last step in the process. It was a highly developed, overlooked craft, as we explore: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/disneys-fi...

There are 750 screens in the film market labeled "the Caribbean". A majority Black audience and Black-led films do well there. Not tracked by Box Office Mojo or The Numbers. Should be listed under "international". If tracked, it'd prove Black-led casts to be more lucrative & we'd get more.

I started my PhD program with an eight week old at home, sole income being my doctoral stipend, in a history program, in Knoxville, TN. And every month we got a new book to read to my son, free, mailed to us, so my kid, my kids, grew up in rooms full of books even when I had no money. That's Dolly.
