People need to understand just how openly genocidal the rhetoric on the far right is getting towards transgender people. They're openly talking about eradicating us and forcefully mass institutionalizing all trans people. These are people with direct ties to the Trump administration.

Screenshot of two tweets from Matt Walsh’s verified Twitter account (@MattWalshBlog).

First tweet (17 hours ago): “It’s time to have a national conversation about common sense restrictions on transgenders.” The tweet has 1.3K comments, 3.8K retweets, 42K likes, and 1M views.

Second tweet (18 hours ago): “It wasn’t all that long ago that anyone who identified as the opposite sex would be involuntarily committed to an insane asylum. Does anyone at this point seriously think that our current approach is an improvement?” The tweet has 666 comments, 1.9K retweets, 21K likes, and 362K views.

First tweet is by Michael Knowles (@michaeljknowles), reposted by Christopher F. Rufo. It reads: “For the good of society and especially for the good of the poor people who have fallen prey to this delusion, transgenderism must be eradicated from public life entirely—the whole preposterous ideology, at every level.” The tweet has 816 comments, 2.4K retweets, 17K likes, and 379K views.

Second tweet is by Christopher F. Rufo (@realchrisrufo), 20 hours ago: “The trans cult hatched such an enormous propaganda campaign, that, for a number of years, they were able to obscure an obvious truth: pumping kids full of synthetic hormones, while telling them they can change from boy to girl, will only end in tragedy or disaster.” The tweet has 878 comments, 1.5K retweets, 9.2K likes, and 120K views.

Third tweet is also by Christopher F. Rufo, 20 hours ago: “We should now put to rest the libertarian delusion that transgenderism is a matter of ‘personal choice,’ or ‘live and let live.’ It’s an ideology that has done grave damage to millions of Americans, and has unleashed a nihilistic wave of violence on our society. Enough.” The tweet has 921 comments, 1.5K retweets, 9.6K likes, and 293K views.

The legal definition of a woman in the UK now excludes trans people: This is what it means for Trans+ rights in the country

The UK Supreme Court endorsed segregating trans people entirely out of public life. They can exclude trans women from single sex spaces on the basis of sex and then exclude trans men on the basis of gender reassignment. Effectively, it allows the legal exclusion of trans people from public life.

This image contains text discussing the implications of legal definitions of sex on trans individuals. It criticizes how anti-trans activists can use such definitions to exclude trans people from public life. The example given involves a court ruling on a counseling session for female victims of sexual assault, where defining sex as "biological sex" would exclude trans women and potentially trans men, based on appearance or objections from others.

Not-a-lawyer-but The immensely frustrating thing here is that this opinion hinges on the immutability of sex (to tie all trans people to our "birth sex") while also acknowledging the mutability of sex to justify the exclusion of transitioned men from single-sex spaces. Degendering for everyone!

The UK supreme court has gutted the legal recognition of trans people. They also recognized the concept of sex based rights which is just absurd. There's no such thing as sex based rights. There is the right to be free from discrimination on the basis of sex. www.cbsnews.com/news/uk-supr...

The U.K. Supreme Court has ruled the country's 2010 Equality Act defines a woman as someone born biologically female in a potential landmark case for transgender rights.

$When we begin to fear the unknown, the future dies—wrapped so tightly in the present that it can no longer move forward. To many, I, as a trans person, am the unknown. A question they do not want to ask, a possibility they refuse to imagine. You are told to fear me. But before others ever feared me, I was taught to fear myself. I was taught that the unknown inside me was dangerous, something to suppress, something to deny. I know what it is like to be afraid of the real me. And I can tell you, without hesitation—it sucks. But here is what they never told me: the unknown isn’t empty. The void isn’t waiting to swallow you whole. When you reach for yourself, you are there. When I finally let go of fear and met myself—truly, fully—it wasn’t tragedy. It wasn’t loss. It was joy. And getting to know me, the real me, is joyful too. Just as getting to know the real you will be. We reach for each other in the unknown because we reach for ourselves—because we are each other, just refracted through different prisms of possibility. Variations of the same question: What does it mean to be? What does it mean to exist in this body, with this face, with this voice? What would it be like to be me, but shaped by different hands, different histories, different stars? This is why we tell stories, why we imagine beyond the limits of our own skin. We want to know what it is like to be ourselves in other bodies, to see the infinite versions of who we could be, who we already are. We are each reaching forward, reaching outward, reaching into the dark with the hope that something—someone—will reach back. And we do. We always do.$
