I'm laughing so hard because of tonight's #DoctorWho episode. The first 45 minutes do their best to convince you it's the worst finale in all of NuWho. And then it just fucks with you twice and leaves you bewildered. Amazing stuff, both terrible and brilliant. This is what the show is all about.

The second season of Chibnall Who (S12) is overall better than the previous one but it never quite holds the bar set by Spyfall 1. The Timeless Child is a fucking mess, obviously. I'm not even talking about the idea behind the retcon — it's the execution that's the weak spot here.

I am prepared to call this, "They Didn't Believe Him" from Unexplored Worlds: The Steve Ditko Archives Vol 2, the perfect 4-page comic.

basically, dude goes to his buddies and is like "i saw her again! you didn't believe me last time but I did see her THIS time!" who did he see? well! turn the page to find out!!

I'll tell you who he saw: a MERMAID!! and we see her too, in flashback! she promises him she'll be back tomorrow morning. I don't trust this mermaid but the dude loves her and definitely does

so dude's buddies are like, welp, he's definitely crazy, let's wall him up in a cave for his own good. but dude knows the clock is ticking! so bam! he busts out of the cave just as the morning sun is rising!!

and the next day the dude's buddies find his tracks beginning at the cave and ending at the lake shore - he's gone! they conclude he must've frowned because mermaids aren't real and EVERY CENTAUR KNOWS THAT, TWIST IN THE LAST PANEL!!! THEY WERE CENTAURS THE WHOLE TIME AND EVERY PANEL WAS FRAMED TO HIDE THAT UNTIL NOW!! STRAIGHT UP HORSEFOLK ALL ALONG
