This is the correct approach. This episode is a certified crowd-displeaser, mad respect to Russel.

I wanna do this too. My ranking: 1. The Well. Just simple and solid. 2. The Story and The Engine. Very good. 3. Lucky Day. Good. 4. The Reality War. Hilarious. 5. Wish World. Fine, pretty decent. 6. The Robot Revolution. Meh. 7. Lux. Didn't work for me. 8. The ISC. A mess of an episode.

My manifesto for Doctor Who 1. None if the previous showrunners are allowed even as guest writers. 2. At least one ape episode per season. 3. Three seasons where the only returning enemies are the Midnight entity, Vashta Nerada and The Boneless 4. The Doctor vs. Time Agents vs. Time Hotel

God bless you Russel T. Davies, please let you have the show renewed, but also please find yourself a replacement

I'm laughing so hard because of tonight's #DoctorWho episode. The first 45 minutes do their best to convince you it's the worst finale in all of NuWho. And then it just fucks with you twice and leaves you bewildered. Amazing stuff, both terrible and brilliant. This is what the show is all about.

- Wish World. It was good? Honestly, I don't see the issue here. Maybe The Rani is mischaracterized, but it's not that big of a deal in my opinion. What worries me is that the final episode now needs to get 200 things right and I think it's gonna be more like 4 (26/) #DoctorWho

All that said, I'm not trying to be a hater here. There are a lot of things I like about the current era, but there are also a lot of things that don't really work. This episode only includes like a half of the worse things and hooboy, that's enough to make it barely hold together. (25/)

--only to be unaffected by the same thing that already happened to Hellia? The incoherent characterization of the Hellian girl? Complete absence of any interesting songs in a musical episode? I'm not even talking about the bigeneration. (24/)

#DoctowWho #DoctorWhoSpoilers - The Interstellar Song Contest. Yeah, that was a mess. I'm sorry but the whole "s2 is leagues above s1" is just not holding up. The voiced-out morals from Kerblam? The Doctor melting down and being triggered (why did they had to word it like this) only to--

- The Story & the Engine. Loved the setting and the atmosphere. Loved who The Barber turned out to be. The gods-related episodes have been the weakest in this era, but this one was the first of them to actually feel like a supernatural story. (22/) #DoctorWho

Not sure what the job even was here, tbh

And of course I don't mean fiction should just be pure escapism. But if a story is bringing up a problem it can't say anything new about, the resolution this straightforward just leaves me as a viewer confused. But hey, nothing new has been said about "Conrads" for a long time, it's hard! (21/)

Shaking off a major social problem from the real world like this by showing an alien on a live stream is like that issue of the X-Men where we're told mutants are immune to HIV. Sure, it can work that way in a fictional setting, why not. But then why bring up these themes in the first place? (20/)

In our real world, where the inspiration for Conrad comes from, every western country is either run by a Conrad and his Think Tank already or will be after the nearest elections. And we're yet to see one of them fall after being exposed as a liar. (19/)

But RTD tried to make a good ending and it cannot avoid looking like pure wishful thinking. The Doctor's monologue is exactly what the well-intentioned people *wish* they could tell the Conrads of the world… But somehow never get the justified reason to. (18/)

Spoilers ahead, I'm sorry if you haven't seen it. The believable ending here would be Conrad bringing Unit down or impairing it heavily. Things like that are what's happening in our world and would be happening even without Americans re-electing the zieg administration. (17/)

- Lucky Day. Okay, this is an interesting episode. Nothing special in terms of how good or bad it is, but RTD's decision to make an episode about post-truth populists makes the show way more cartoony than Polish Polish or Mr. Ring-a-Ding. Especially in the ending. #DoctorWho (16/)

That's it for now. Let's see if I got any of this right (15/)

Now, some predictions: - Mrs. Flood is not The Rani. - Ncuti will bigenerate in the finale and it will be even worse than 14 to 15 bigeneration. - What's happened to Earth will somehow involve the Midnight entities. - We won't learn if the show is continued/canceled for 6-12 more months. (14/?)

- It's baffling to me that the two seasons follow the exact same structure: a silly sci-fi episode; a bad episode with a god; a better sci-fi episode; a Ruby Summers episode. Not that it's bad but I don't understand why it goes this way. - Mrs. Flood should have been a one-off character. (13/?)

- Ruby and Belinda are written with the same depth and amount of effort. Of course it's more interesting to see a conflict-filled dynamic of The Doctor and the companion, but Belinda is not a more complex character than Ruby, she's just based on a different idea. (12/?)

Some thoughts about this era in general. - I don't think it's as bad as people say. This show always had a lot of trashy episodes. But short seasons aren't helping here. - S15 (2) is NOT that much better than S14 (1). It's just recency bias, plus the expectations bar is lower now. (11/?)

100 0

- The Well. Good, scary in all the right moments. Clever use of a simple but creative way to make an unseen silent entity unique and interesting. Maybe not as good as Midnight, but still the best episode of this season so far. I'll try to continue this when more episodes come out. Meanwhile, (10/?)

- Lux. The animation team did an awesome job. The story itself wasn't very interesting. The meta bit with the fans was very confusing, after watching the episode and reading a lot about it online I still don't get why it was there at all. (9/?)

100 0

- Joy to the World. Unlike Boom, this felt very much like a proper Moffat episode. Maybe not an all-timer, but definitely one of the better ones. - The Robot Revolution. Eh… Kinda Space Babies level? Varada is great, but not much else to see here.

100 0

- The Legend of Ruby Sunday / Empire of Death. I didn't hate it? Yes, the way The Doctor defeats Sutech and the secret of Ruby's mother are both anticlimactic and strange decisions. But it's still a decent adventure that's interesting to watch. (7/?)

100 0

- Dot and Bubble. The best episode of this season, almost up there with Wild Blue Yonder. - Rogue. Not much to say here. It's a competent story, although the aliens were boring. Not terrible, but even this era has way better episodes.

100 0

- Boom. The story was good, but the episode still felt underwhelming. Probably because the atmosphere and the characters emotions suggested we should have a more intense reaction? I don't know. - 73 Yards. A very nice episode. The ending drops most of the tension but I liked the ambiguity. (5/?)

…but I don't think it's catastrophically bad. The main thing I didn't like was Ncuti and Millie being over-excited about everything. This stands for a few episodes, but then I think they both become more interesting in their roles. - The Devil's Chord. Maestro was ok, but the episode was bad (4/?)
