Drs. Huie Lin & David Wang enrolled a patient in the COMPASSION 3 study, evaluating the Edwards Lifesciences SAPIEN 3 for patients with failing surgical or transcatheter bioprosthetic aortic valve. The first enrollment in 9 yrs and the 1st interventional cardiology device trial at Mission Bay.

The Tison Lab developed a novel multiview AI model to capture 3D anatomic data from multiple medical imaging views. Congratulations to our patient, Martell, and our cardiac surgery team! Martell is the first UCSF patient to move to a heart transplant from a Total Artificial Heart, a device that temporarily supports heart function, while patients with heart failure wait for a transplant.
