Nintendo knows they can fleece Metroid fans for everything they're worth lmao

Awww could have sworn I put a new 3D Kirby game on my bingo. Must have removed it because it felt slightly too soon

000

See I would have predicted Torneko remake I just thought SE might take it easy this time lol

Super underrated soundtrack btw. Soyo Oka pretty much defines Nintendo's SNES sound to me

With the Steam Summer Sale here, I'd thought I'd spotlight games with fewer reviews, but deserve as much recognition as any other game. Here's a thread! And if this was useful to you, I have a KoFi for tips. Let's get to the games!

I wasn't that moved by the Direct but Nintendo fans are not beating the "Smash and Mario gamer" allegations

Speaking as someone who loathes the concept, I'm still not looking forward to possible OOT remake discourse tomorrow, especially coming off the heels of Star Fox 64 getting one

Apparently the Yoshi game for infant children has actual Mario universe world building so I might have to pick it up :/

ucantbeme @ucantbeme.bsky.social · 03/05/2026

Finally watched Steven Universe in its entirety beginning to end and I can't believe people can watch it in 2026 and still hate the boardie episodes. I think I wanted more of them

ucantbeme @ucantbeme.bsky.social · 02/05/2026

Everyone talks about the American VG History bias with things like the crash or whatever but I was propagandized hard by multiple game history books written in the UK as a kid making me believe Tomb Raider actually mattered and every game ever can be traced back to the ZX Spectrum

ucantbeme @ucantbeme.bsky.social · 13/04/2026

Mario Kart World could really use the only two good battle modes from 8DX. I have to assume they're a part of Nintendo's drip-feed pipeline because surely shine thief can't be too hard to implement. They have half of the assets they need in the game already

ucantbeme @ucantbeme.bsky.social · 11/04/2026

Last post about the Galaxy movie but it's really funny how the only real identity it has is ripping off Star Wars. Starts in a desert, Princess in distress sends message, Jabba the Wart, Fox Solo, Planet Bowser is a doomsday weapon under construction, sibling plot twist, etc.

I have no self control. #seated for le mario galaxy movie rn

Rewatched a bit of the Mario Movie and forgot how messy the Pizzaria scene is. "Okay, I'm going to trust you" "You can't just be scared all the time" "You'd be surprised" And then the whole Foreman Spike dynamic is barely set up. Viewers literally have to read environmental details for context

The Mario Galaxy movie is actually going to suck even more than I anticipated uggggghhhhh

Hollowed out the lil basement I imagine I'm going to be spending 90% of my Pokopia playtime in

Pokopia's localization has the opposite problem of the modern Dragon Quest games (and specifically Builders) where I kind of wish they'd push the accents a *little* bit more

If I ever get off my lazy ass and make a YouTube channel I should do a retrospective on EAD 8's games because I really want an excuse to talk about how Honeyhive Galaxy is spiritually a DK Jungle Beat level

ucantbeme @ucantbeme.bsky.social · 09/03/2026

Dragon Quest Builders 3 is fantastic as expected but holy it's a productivity vacuum. I need to lay off for thr next few days. Here's some progress on my first real build in the game tho

Pokopia screenshot. Ground level view of an elevated island with flowers and a pokeball shaped pool

Same island. Now on top of an elevated hill in the center of the pool.

Same elevated position, different angle. View of the gondola down to lower floating islands.

I don't want to admit it because I'm trying to be more of a video game snob but Mario Kart World is probably the game that brought me thr most joy this year lmao. Almost every issue I have with the game is on the behalf of someone else.
