Farewell to my favorite cat, the best cat anyone could ask for, Widget (2009-2026). She had a fierce eyebrow but a gentle and loving soul, a lover of laps, and a good game of fetch the mouse. And boy did she meow! 200 times a day!! I’ll miss her so much.

i have gotten work done on BSR #5 the last few days so that's good. but in terms of playing games my motivation's been at an all time low. maybe that'll change when I finish BSR5. i dunno. i am concerned that i'll never be able to regain my old work ethic (which would be fine in any OTHER economy!)

huh, there's kind of a bizarre lack of animated films this year, isn't there? it's not that there's none, but like, even internationally, there's not a lot. AIFF's selections are almost everything interesting that exists. and then there's "Steps" on Netflix? and Hexed? pretty boring year, huh.

My expectation for Twilight Princess, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks is that they’ll all drop on NSO throughout 2027. Nintendo celebrates anniversaries the full year round, and I believe dataminers saw Wii and DS entries in NSO. Those are probably gonna be Summer 2027 announcements (guessing)

My hot take? The OOT remake looks pretty cool. “Hire this man” is an overused phrase. There’s clear intentionality here, and I think they’ve made gorgeous, grand spaces out of what were humble locations in the original, highly compromised from woeful tech. Link looks fine, Zelda looked a little odd.

it's so weird to see people constantly say "gaming was better when I was a kid". when i was a kid i almost never finished anything, i had to rent all my games, and didn't get to choose what my parents would buy. for a couple of years the Amiga 500 was my gaming machine lol

The platformer I was talking about last weekend was Marsupilami 2: Salsa Palombia. It's gorgeous, it's fun, it's varied, and it's clear the developers understand what made DKC Returns so good. This is Microids/Ocellus's equivalent of Tropical Freeze. It's currently my #3 game this year.

I know Bonus Stage Remastered 5 has taken a long time but I am grinding out 15+ seconds of footage a day on it at the moment. I am no longer saying "it'll be out next week" but instead, I will have a WIP on the Patreon SOON(tm) and the finished episode probably in late September.

Aggelos 2 is solid, not spectacular, from what I've played so far. It's definitely a step up from the first one, and I like the visual enhancements which put it more in line with Monster World IV than the first's Master System-style visuals. I like the rapid fire mana blasts, feels very shmup

since Tim Curry's passing has people talking about Freakazoid, can I just say how inspired it was to make Dr. Smith from Lost in Space a member of the main cast? jonathan harris was fantastic reprising the role too. the perfect foil to Freakazoid's zaniness, AND Cosgrove constantly messing with him
