It sounds like he's saying she consented to "sexual activity" as a category, as though consenting to any sexual act at all means consenting to whatever sexual acts happen to you against your will.

The headline on the CNN page is so misleading. It makes it sound like he's in favor of banning trans athletes.

This seems entirely at odds with the entire reclaiming of the term slut. It’s usually used to empower women to be sluts for themselves, but here it seems to be used as “find out how to make women sluts for you (men).”

If we're talking about Elon, he has run a 10 year "be cheap break people" experiment by removing LIDAR from his cars and relying solely on cameras, even though we know it's less accurate, while telling people they can drive themselves, putting innocent bystanders at risk.

Age verification is an egregious privacy violation, an inexcusable form of surveillance, and… it’s also voodoo bullshit that doesn’t work. It’s one of the reasons I’m proudest to support @eff.org, who have been leading the fight against the horrible practice for years: www.eff.org/issues/age-v...

The AI build-out is on track to become the biggest economic bet in U.S. history, dwarfing the investments made to fund other huge U.S. infrastructure projects such as the railroads, the highway system and the plumbing for the internet. www.wsj.com/economy/the-...

The AI Build-Out Is Becoming the Biggest Economic Bet in U.S. History
Data-center spending is greater than that for canals, railroads and grid combined—creating jobs and stock-market wealth, while boosting inflation and crowding out housing.

The thing about trying to appeal to right wing bigots is that right wing bigots are all stupid idiots who get 100% of their news from propagandists so they will never actually find out that you were trying to appeal to them in the first place

Generally when a surgeon cuts you open they have at least some idea of what they're going to do once they get in there to make you better. Huang is saying, let's cut you open, and while you're bleeding out, we'll go to medical school and learn how to maybe fix you.

the republicans are wide open on several fronts, historically unpopular president, unpopular war, record high gas. any dem throwing trans people under the bus at this moment is doing it because they want to. not like they need to, do they. even if it worked as a vote winner, which it doesn't

i see a lot of debate around this issue that takes it for granted that supporting trans rights (especially in the sports context) will hurt you electorally. it’s worth highlighting that that’s just not what the data shows.

I like that they attribute swing voters moving back towards the Dems to Dems throwing trans people under the bus etc. and not that the Trump admin has been a fucking trash fire and historically unpopular.

Voted to reject the @consumerreports.org board slate because of the recent fearmongering they did about lead in protein powder. They generated a ton of coverage based on lead content exceeding an arbitrary “level of concern” based on zero scientific evidence and lost a lot of credibility for me.

Many businesses have decided that being cashless is in their interest for the same reasons. However, that cuts people off who do not have bank accounts or forces them to use scammy companies to get prepaid debit cards. That's why the city has a law saying all businesses must accept cash.
