Did you want to know how the hydropower resources in Laos are built and used by neighboring countries and how the role of non-hydro renewable energy is changing investment and development in the country? Well, boy howdy, do I have a piece for you. dialogue.earth/en/energy/ex...

Someone will try to convince you to read "I Who Have Never Known Men" one day. Listen. It's great. But then don't talk to that person anymore because they wanted you to feel cold and empty and afraid. Heather, you are a jerk.

Yup, y'all were right. The brilliant @nnedi.bsky.social did it again. On the downside, Lagos flights are expensive. Interested to hear suggestions on things to do in Nigeria for someone who loves music, food, and isn't a robot.

Another excellent, heart-warming folk horror from @tkingfisher.com. But it's the second one in a row for me where the main character failed to arrange a connecting ride after public transport. Evil sex birds and squash monsters are fine, but traveling without booking ahead stresses me out.

I bought this back in like 2012 and never read it because I don't really like short books. But Jesus. I read it in like three hours and spent the rest of the night having horrific nightmares about MATH. Just TIME and MATH. Have you heard the good news about our lord and savior Ahura Mazda?

Again: @tkingfisher.com is writing some of the best horror today. Why? Because she's funny. Oh, you have some sort of unknowable cosmic entity of terror. Big whoop. She makes you afraid of LADYBUGS. Some may say her main characters of being too neurotic. To those people I say, no I'm not, you are.

I avoid @buehlmeister.bsky.social books because I like them too much. I read 50 pages and I think, "No, you can't have more. You'll get brain diabetes." Every book he's written has kicked me right in the heart. I will read everything he writes forever. Been putting this one off. Brilliant.

@brockway.bsky.social wrote the scariest book I've read, Termination Shock; the funniest non-fiction books I've read, EISGTKE; and his Vicious Circuit trilogy was a masterpiece in the genre. He's a wiser, kinder, more streamlined lunatic in his latest, I Will Kill Your Imaginary Friend for $200.

I know I'm a latecomer. I've only done about 6 of her books, but I say this unreservedly: Ever since Terry Pratchett started pretending to be dead, I've been looking for an author that gives me that warm, fuzzy (but somehow terrified) feeling. Found her. A House with Good Bones, @tkingfisher.com.
