We stayed fairly close through elementary school and were still friends in high school. And, that's in spite of the striking difference between our families: socioeconomic class.

Because of things, just thinking about my best friend in kindergarten. We were so close they separated us in first grade. His parents were both immigrant doctors from India, who ended up in small-town Indiana.
