@davidebybc.bsky.social why is there zero conversation about public transit, education, or BC Parks? These are election issues for me.

This is what I would want, a nice simple reset to use as a starting point, no other overrides needed.

Elections have a way of clarifying who matters to political parties (car owners) and whose priorities can wait for another day (transit advocates). My dispatch from Day 1 on David Eby’s four day mid-election road trip. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

ANALYSIS | Eby puts needs of car owners ahead of transit advocates in ruling out Metro Vancouver vehicle levy | CBC News
For the last 18 months, a vehicle levy has been talked about by TransLink as a potential way to create a more sustainable funding model, as revenue from fuel taxes continues to decline. But all that w...

Would love to find out what their plan is to fund transit, and if they have any plans to reduce the cost to transit riders, like they have for car owners with the gas tax reduction.

Thinking about this a lot. How can they afford this, but not to fund our transit systems properly, or build the schools previously promised, so people don't need to drive as much? How much is this going to cost, where are the.cuts going to be made?

Cool. What about public transit? You campaigned on public transit issues last time, got a mandate to move on them, and have not done so. What are you doing on transit? I have terrible transit in my neighborhood. You haven't done what your promised to do last election.

Love that this is finally moving forward. Still hoping to hear some type of update from the city about the village retail area development. Any new info about the cities plans and estimated timelines would be great. We are desperate for this.

Very disappointed in NDP for this. You have failed to offer a compelling argument for this election. The Canadian opinion on Trump is very clear, as is their support for dealing with him. This is a big expense we do not need. You have a clear mandate from the last election, with lots of work to do

I've been trying to get an update on the Burke Mountain middle-secondary school the was announced as grades 6-12 filling a massive gap in our community. I've heard it is now secondary only, but there is no public information about it. Can you provide an update to our community, is it true?

The cost of the last election was $82 million, they could build a new school instead of having an early election.

I believe it, but what a waste of time and money. Political games that do nothing to benefit the people of the province. They have better things to be doing.

@sd43bc.bsky.social @lisabeare.bsky.social @cityofcoquitlam.bsky.social @jodiewickens.bsky.social @governmentofbc.bsky.social How do we get an update on the Burke Mountain middle - secondary school? Is it true it's secondary only now? Very disappointing if true, not what people are expecting.

For no reason at all, and certainly not due to what I'm hearing on @cbcstephenquinn.bsky.social right now.
A chart showing that survival rate for pedestrians goes from 0/10 at 60 km/h to 6/10 at 40 km/h and 9/10 at 30 km/h.

Vancouver's "School Slow Zones" were set at 40 km/h not 30 km/h thanks to council.

Great to see this. Burke Mountain is a fast growing area, with a large existing population But currently lacks many foundations of a healthy community, such as transit, schools, a grocery store, and other retail. This fills a critical need in the community, allowing residents to stay local.

From the article: > If you start damming a river, the water's going to go somewhere and if you start blocking the roads, the cars have to go somewhere. This is literally the point. These changes are controlling where they want traffic to go. People will learn the new flow, it's not an issue.

I was not familiar with Cathedral Grove before this. I often hike in Golden Ears park with my kids, where we see the old growth stumps left over from the logging that occured there, wondering about how big they would have been, and how terrible it is they are all gone. Now I want to go visit here.

@sd43bc.bsky.social @lisabeare.bsky.social @cityofcoquitlam.bsky.social @bcgovernment.bsky.social @jodiewickens.bsky.social I've been hearing rumors for many months that the Burke Mountain middle/secondary school is now only secondary. I can't find any public info. What is going on?

@cityofportmoody.bsky.social slippery slope, don't like: tricitiesdispatch.com/resident-par... If every municipality did similar, it would be worse for us all. We are a dense, shared region. Our collective tax dollars go towards projects like the Shoreline Trail Boardwalk replacement.

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Stay free
