That does make sense I feel like that is how it used to work. You only saw the stuff of people you knew. And now it's more strangers than people I recognize.

That's how it goes for me, too I miss signing in And I miss when the assumption was people are unreachable until they decide they aren't (not that I'm ignoring people if my phone is away) And I miss popping into someone for a quick visit if I'm in the area, now with txting it's rude to not ask

Wanted to make a small thread about my journey over the past couple years not working games media. Maybe it'll help people who are struggling with finding work. But the TL;DR: Do it. Find work outside games. Games will be here if you want to come back.

I'm posting for your opinions, thoughts, and insight. I don't know how to use the Internet anymore. Posting feels like opening yourself up for people's worst interpretation of your thoughts. Most of the stuff I see is negative/aggressive. What is the Internet used for, aside selling stuff?

I'm relating to Istanbul by They Might Be Giants the way some people relate to Taylor Swift songs. And yes, there was sobbing of "This song just gets me" if you must know.

I've been having so much fun playing LoZ: Echoes of Wisdom Borrowed it from the library on a whim and it's delightful. Highly recommend. Perfect for summer vacation. 🌞

I can't tell if the GDC pricing right now feels reasonable bc they've lowered the price or bc every grocery shop trip is more expensive than the last so money doesn't make sense to me anymore. I like what they are introducing this year. Bummed I'm missing out, but planning for 2028.

We're looking for people interested in hosting a Game Club in their area (like a book club, but for video games). If this is something you might be interested in, follow this link to throw your hat into the ring, I appreciate it - bit.ly/thegameclub_...

I do think what I miss most about pre-covid is passive hang outs. Like, just being in a room with people or seeing the same people as I go about my day. It being an event almost makes it harder but as your one said in your documentary, it's what's needed right now to give people a push.

Was a lovely documentary! Mostly, I'm jealous. Would love something like that here. But also, it reminds me of @yug.bsky.social Game Club. So I'm happy there are many people trying to do exactly that, get people hanging out in person.

I made a 35-minute documentary short film called Building A Village that's now finally out. The film shows community group Clann&Co (née Derry Meet Ups) over the last two years and talks of the need and importance of community and connection in 2026. Watch it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mnD...

I live near Paterson, NJ. Once a season, multiple times a year, I don't have water. I'm so frustrated with how often this happens. Water should not be a concern in a rich country like the USA. (I currently don't have water. I'm so so frustrated.)

$35 tickets 5 hours worth of work. $15 min wage now, that means GA tickets should be $75. Ticketmaster, man.

Very me: Today I found my high school purse. I couldn't afford band patches, so I embroidered them on. I used concert tickets to create little pockets. And the bag itself I bought at an army surplus shop. The phone holder carried a Nokia, at least until I saved up for a purple razor 💜

When I moved from NY to TX, I showed up, put down my license and credit card, and they just handed me the keys to a 26 ft truck. I had ordered a cargo van. They said this is all they had. No instructions, questions, or run down 😅 I think you'll be good
