Summer 2026. There's the carved stone pig in Parade Gardens, but is there anywhere in Bath has a painted King Bladud's Pig on display for visitors?

Tonight: Combe Down Tunnel closed from 10pm with the intention to investigate/sort *that* puddle. Aside from that closure, if you need to stretch your legs and they're close at hand, the tunnels are their usual cool selves.

Closure notice: Combe Down Tunnel will be closed overnight 10pm-6am, 25-26th June. (Thursday night this week.) This is to enable work to be carried out to investigate and hopefully cure the persistent spill of water onto the route from the tunnel drain. (Photo from February 2008...)

At Devonshire Tunnel, the route remains closed while the drainage works progress. Various pumping operations under way this morning, and a plume of condensate rising in the crisp air - the water from the tunnel drain giving the impression that you could boil an egg. (spoiler, nope.)
Water from the tunnel drainage is the source of the vapour that is condensing in the cold air.
