#nzpol The economy is there to serve the people and communities in which it operates✊. To maintain that licence to operate the economy has two tasks🤔. Feed the people and house the people♥️. That is the measure of a successful economy🙂. Anything less is a failed economy😥. 🙏

#nzpol In relation to alleged "$cost" of restoring pay equity ... Am interested in "$cost" of: (1) abolishing child labour? (2) abolishing slavery? (3) forcing employers to provide safe working places? (4) allowing workers to take annual leave? "$Cost" is NOT relevant🤔. They are rights✊. 🙏

In an election this tight, every vote matters But National changed the rules that always allowed Kiwis to register in a relaxed way in the 2 weeks prior to election This was voter suppression It is deeply undemocratic- potentially cutting 175,000 voters Get registered vote.nz/enrolling/en...

I tell you what makes forecasting difficult... ignoring the leading indicators that matter, believing the often 100% wrong models in economic textbooks, relying on vibe surveys, and having blind faith in the business cycle (it's gone down so it will come up)

#nzpol Oh dear ... An economic "thinktank" (no, not *that* one) worried calls to break up supermarkets may 'deter investment'. I always thought 'more competition' encouraged investment, while entrenched oligopolies put most effort enforcing barriers to new entrants? ... panic mode perhaps 🤔 ?

So how is Labour UK feeling about that u turn on regulating political donors now? NZ doesn’t have anything like this scale of donation in NZ but donors still have the power to dramatically tip the playing field Democracies are not for sale Regulate lobbying, and donations
