Finished this right before school started and it is perfect even if my blocking skills are not

An earthy yellow shawl is pinned into a crescent shape. It has "rays" made up of garter spikes bordered by simple lace spanning off of a garter body. It's pinned onto grey and white interlocking foam mats laid on an apricot colored blanket.

Only nine spikes left to go on this guy! Each spike is so satisfying to knit, excited to get it all blocked out. This yarn is a really wonderful wool + linen blend that's nice on the hands.

A partially finished knit shawl in an earthy yellow/gold tone is laid out on an orange blanket. The shawl consists of a garter crescent with "rays" or "spikes" extending off the garter portion, where the spikes rhemselves are made of garter stitch and surrounded by simple lacework. The shawl is wrinkly and too large to fit nicely in the frame of the picture.

Was knitting in the waiting room while my mom was at an appointment and this old man changed seats closer to me, kept glancing over, and eventually went "my wife knits and she made me these socks and 50 more pairs" and it was very sweet, and his socks were very nice

It makes me feel deliriously annoyed that on the humid side of the state it people seem to have stopped watering their silly little lawns entirely, but here on the dry side everyone's lawns are green as can be and the sidewalks are getting no shortage of water 🙃

Did you know taking out books from the library helps the author? The payout isn't as much each rental as buying, but it does help. Did you know you can take out a bunch of books at once? Did you know you don't have to read them all? It helps the library too by having their stuff more in rotation.
