iPhone Duo SwiftUI layouts
A visual gallery for iPhone Duo layouts is exactly the kind of reference that saves time when your mental model starts lying to you. Instead of guessing how a `NavigationSplitView` behaves across portrait, landscape, closed, partially open, and fully open states, you can scan screenshots and compare the variants directly. It is not trying to be a deep essay, and that is fine — sometimes our apps need a quick “what does SwiftUI actually do here?” check before we start adding custom logic. Keep this one nearby when reviewing Duo layout changes.

Apple CoreGraphics PoC Emerges as WhatsApp PDF Checks Hint at Possible Delivery Path
Security researchers have published the first public proof-of-concept for CVE-2026-86950, an Apple CoreGraphics flaw Apple says may have been used in attacks against specific targeted individuals. The trigger is a malicious PDF with a crafted embedded font that crashes unpatched iPhones and Macs. The code causes a crash, not an execution error. Turning the memory corruption into a working

Cross-platform Swift still needs different imports for low-level C APIs: Darwin, Glibc, Musl, Android, WASILibc, CRT… A new pitch proposes one common name: CSystem. forums.swift.org/t/pitch-standard-n… #SwiftLang

[Pitch] Standard name for common low level C interfaces
There continues to be a need for Swift code to directly use low level C interfaces provided by the operating system platform. These are exposed by the modules in stdlib/public/Platform including Glibc, CRT, WASILibc, Android, Musl, as well as Darwin in Apple SDKs. The fact that they all have different names requires cross platform code to start with an ever growing and tedious to maintain chain of #if os(...) and #if canImport(...). #if canImport(Darwin) import Darwin #elseif canImport(Glibc) i...

Apple Patches Critical Zero-Day Vulnerability in iOS 26.7.1
Apple Addresses Active CoreGraphics Exploit Apple recently deployed a highly targeted security update, specifically releasing iOS 26.7.1 to address a severe vulnerability. Malicious actors may have already exploited this flaw to compromise targeted iPhone users. The critical issue, officially tracked as CVE-2026-86950, directly affects the CoreGraphics framework. Consequently, it allows attackers to execute arbitrary code simply by processing a maliciously crafted file.
