Prefer your tools in a sidebar? Bezel on iPhone Duo has that too! Partially fold your Duo and the sidebar snaps to the middle, so your shot doesn't go over the fold and you get more room for the tools :)

Unfold your iPhone Duo and Bezel moves the editing controls to both sides of the screen. You'll probably hold it with two hands, so that's where they're easiest to reach :)

Interesting alert from macOS: this version of the AWS CLI includes a component that will not open in macOS 28. No idea what's going away that would break the AWS CLI. Is part of it still an Intel build running through Rosetta?

New recents screen for Bezel, on iOS and Mac both. Claude and I landed on a waterfall layout and I really like how it came out. Gets you back to a screenshot you were working on a minute ago without hunting for it.

Screen recordings in an editor means trimming, of course. Bit sad Apple never made that trim control a native component we can just use, so we rebuilt it ourselves. Coming together nicely, and you can pick exactly the part of the recording you want.

I talk to my AI agents about as much as I talk to my co-workers, but the two don't mix well in a meeting. AutoMuter mutes your meeting audio automatically whenever a dictation or AI app claims the microphone. Give your instruction, nobody on the call hears it.

The Bezel editor is getting video support, so you can frame a screen recording like you frame a screenshot. Editing a video is a different job from watching one, so I stacked a few playback control variations in the editor to see what actually feels right.

Reworking Bezel so screenshots and screen recordings become actual documents on your Mac. Still in progress and not easy to get there, but once it's in you get so much standard macOS stuff for free: multiple windows, tabs, a proxy icon, auto-save!

Bezel on the Mac has let you take screenshots for a while, but not edit them afterwards. So we're bringing our iOS screenshot editor to the Mac: native, your shot on a canvas with an inspector for the device, background and layout. Early sneak peek, UI still coming together!

Tom had a monitor with a built-in mic that stopped working. He was sure the mic had died. He ran Capture Inspector there and it showed the mic was muted in software by macOS, whoops! Turned out it works perfectly fine.

Bezel's iPhone app already frames your screenshots in a real device with a background. Now we're building the same for video: drop in a screen recording, style the bezel, background and padding, export the whole clip. UX is still coming together, but the core works and it's fun to play with.

For as long as Bezel has existed I've instinctively clicked the mirrored screen, even though control is a recent feature. So we finally added feedback for when your click doesn't come through: the screen blurs a bit. Here, clicking a chess piece with control disabled.

Control Center tells you an app is using your mic right now. Not which mic, not what used it a minute ago, not for how long. Capture Inspector does: every app per mic, with the process, PID and timing, live and recently used.

When you control your iPhone with Bezel you can just move your mouse in and out of the window. No need to click to capture the mouse or anything. Playing chess, the iPhone cursor just jumps to where you point. Feels like any other app you use, happy with how this is turning out.

Run your MacBook with the lid closed and the built-in camera stops working. It is still connected, just suspended. Capture Inspector tells you why: it shows the camera as suspended with the cause, MacBook lid closed. The mic has the same trap, it looks available but will not pick up a sound.

Released the Bezel 5.0 beta with Control, plus a batch of fixes that make the flow much smoother. It now connects to your iPhone automatically once paired, and handles a lot more errors to help you recover. Still more to do before it leaves beta, but happy with this batch.

A while back I added a right-click menu to Bezel's screenshot preview. Recordings now have the exact same menu: Open With, Share, Show in Finder, and more.

We've got a beta out: you can now control your iPhone from Bezel, not just mirror it. Drive it with your Mac's mouse and keyboard. Turn on beta features in Settings inside Bezel to try it. Onboarding and mouse speed are still a little rough, but it's ready to play with. Feedback welcome.

The Frame Screenshot shortcut in Bezel just got a lot more powerful. Before you could only pass in a screenshot, and the rest was always the same defaults. Now you can configure device, color, frame style, padding, orientation and aspect ratio. Coming soon.

Capture Inspector now runs on Windows too, and the beta is available today. It surfaces the low-level details of cameras, microphones and displays on Windows: what each device supports, and why things are or aren't working. Already proven useful for us.
