This is some crazy error messaging. I can't think of a single way to interpret this line as setting a value.

a line of Swift code reading:
if editMode?.isEditing == true { // some code }

And an error message reading:
Cannot assign to property: 'isEditing' is a get-only property
Optional type 'Binding<Bool>?' cannot be used as a boolean; test for '!= nil' instead
Replace 'editMode? isEditing' with '((editMode?.isEditing) != nil)'
