I scored a couple of yellow cedar logs (the ones on the far left and right in the photo). Thinking of trying to set up an “Alaskan” mill where you use your chainsaw to make rough boards. This would be a winter project.

Some photos from our hike up to Marmot Pass in the Olympic Peninsula. It’s an 11.5 mile hike with 3500 feet elevation gain. The trail is in great shape. My only complaint is that there were some horse flies with no respect for personal space on the way up.

I built the chicken run on the site of an old barn that stood where the Tuff Shed you see in the photo now is. The chickens are always excavating and uncovering old artifacts. Mostly it’s buried plastic, but sometimes you find some fun stuff. #backyardbirds #backyardchickens

My daughter and my middle daughter and I hiked up to Marmot Pass on the Olympic Peninsula yesterday. We saw these plants. I’m pretty sure they are rhododendron but if someone knows better, please correct me. I was pretty excited to find rhododendron in the wild.

Sooo ... I stopped drinking alcohol a few weeks ago for financial and health reasons. A cool side effect is that I've dropped 5 lbs without otherwise changing my diet or activity. Turns out drinking beer really is like swilling bread.

We have entered bonkers zucchini season.
Around a dozen large and small zucchini fruit. One is yellow, some striped, more a traditional green. They are lying on the garden floor with straw messed around and a hand glove for size reference.
