Quick observation: minimum $50k for 'Explore' grants is still a problem for HASS, given limits on teaching buyout imposed at both ARC and institution ends. We don't need synchrotrons, we just need time to write!

Yes! Making the work visible is half the battle. I block out time to prep for things, esp meetings where I'm chairing. Actually having to go to meetings is tip-of-the-iceberg stuff compared to all the work that needs to get done (often because of $^(&#& meetings...). 😄

New challenge for busy researchers who lament that they don't have time to think these days: For 2026, plan for thinking time, or time to do nothing (which is when some of the best ideas happen). Protect it. Make it sacrosanct. If you don't take your thinking time seriously, no-one else will.
