Remember when prank calls were ridiculous and not about scamming people out of money? "Is your fridge running?" "you better go catch it!" <insert childish laughter here>

Taxes are not punishment. They are our duty of care to one another. We should be debating how best to spend them, not how to fight paying them.

Maybe we need local tv stations again. Then there could be 1 mayoral candidate debate, 1 council candidate debate (or several for long ballots) and so on. I'm not sure 20 + candidate debates works.

Beaks off about public engagement but when the public wants to engage, they won't. Say one thing, do another! That should be their slogan.

Advance voting may be starting in your community for the municipal campaign. 1. Go to your city hall website and find out when and where you can vote 2. Make a plan! Put it in the calendar, invite a friend. 3. If you're ready, vote early! 4. Shift your focus to the provincial vote :) #BCPoli

It's not ok to me, that billions of tax dollars are given to for-profit companies to invest to make their shareholders a profit, with no accountability for job sustainability (forget creation), outcomes, or even success. Build co-op housing, feed kids, invest in healthcare and education.

One of my fave thing about New Westies is when they ask about So-n-so who lives on the street because they haven't seen them around in a while. They are our neighbours and we care about them. We want more for them. We truly have a lot of compassion in our community.

It's my favourite, most wholesome event, in New Westminster today. Riverfest. I am here for the parade of tugboats and other boats on the river. I love it so much, I put it in my calendar. 🤓

Can some media talk to ElectionsBC and see if they are staffed up to handle 2 elections at the same time? Candidates and campaign managers rely on EBC staff to answer questions and provide guidance. It is hopping during 1 election!

I do not want elected leaders who will work for free. That's elitism. To be able to afford to forego a salary for 4 years requires a lot of privilege. In fact, it's anti-democratic. Our elected spaces should support ALL people so those who want to lead have the resources to choose that.... /1
