{𝗮𝙅𝙎𝘿}: JD Vance’s doxing crusade for Kirk critics exposes 𝑴𝑨𝑮𝑨’𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒇𝒓𝒂𝒖𝒅: they howl about ❝cancel culture❞ yet weaponize state power to silence dissent, martyr a man who spewed hate, and condemn violence only when it hits their own. It’s projection, two-facedness, and creeping authoritarianism.
The MAGA Movement’s
Selective Outrage and Violent Hypocrisy

Curated, Researched, and Compiled by andy J.S. Decepida

The Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement often loudly condemns political violence — but only when the victims or targets are their own. Repeatedly, MAGA leaders display selective outrage, decrying violence when right-wing figures are harmed even as they incite, excuse, or ignore violence perpetrated by their allies. This hypocrisy has been on full display in the aftermath of the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, where MAGA’s supposed moral high ground has been exposed as anything but. Vice President J.D. Vance’s response to Kirk’s killing offers a case study in MAGA’s cynical double standards: a movement that demands absolute sympathy for itself while showing contempt or indifference toward violence against its opposition. In this indicting analysis, Vance’s exploitative reaction to Kirk’s death is contrasted with the movement’s long record of two-faced rhetoric — condemning violence in the abstract while stoking it in practice then raging against ❝hate❞ only when it’s politically convenient.

Weaponizing a Tragedy: J.D. Vance and the Charlie Kirk Aftermath
When Charlie Kirk —a 31-year-old far-right influencer and founder of Turning Point USA— was shot and killed on September 10, 2025, MAGA’s response was immediate and ferocious. Rather than urging restraint or unity, Vice President J.D. Vance seized the moment as a political weapon. Within days, Vance hosted an episode of The Charlie Kirk Show from the White House, flanked by Trump adviser Stephen Miller, to promote a divisive narrative: he blamed ❝left-wing extremism❞ for Kirk’s murder before any motive was confirmed1,2. In Vance’s telling, Kirk’s death was not the act of an individual but the predictable result of a supposed ❝destructive movement of left-wing extremism❞ that had to be purged1.The hypocrisy in Vance’s stance was apparent from the start. No evidence had been presented that the killer was part of any leftist plot —authorities publicly noted the motive remained unclear— yet Vance exploited grief and fear for maximal political gain, declaring that ❝most of the lunatics in American politics today are proud members of the far left❞ and asserting ❝there is no unity❞ to be had with his political opponents1,2. In an extraordinary escalation, Vance vowed ❝retribution❞ against liberal institutions, naming foundations he accused —without evidence— of bankrolling anti-Kirk commentary, and floated punitive state action against them1. On the same program, Stephen Miller pledged to use the Department of Justice and Homeland Security to ❝identify, disrupt, dismantle and destroy❞ networks he blamed for Kirk’s death — again, without evidence of such a conspiracy1. Trump reinforced the posture by entertaining terror-designation talk and RICO-style prosecutions aimed at protest movements he dislikes1. A tragedy was being converted into government-sanctioned vengeance against dissent.

Vance’s words were wrapped in moral absolutism and spiritual war imagery, quoting scripture and casting the moment as a righteous struggle — language that paints political opponents as moral enemies rather than citizens in dispute2. Even as he intoned ❝we don’t believe in political violence,❞ he urged followers to ❝call out❞ anyone who failed to sufficiently mourn Kirk and, crucially, to ❝call their employer❞ — a green light for mass doxing and professional retaliation against private citizens for speech, including quoting Kirk’s own words1. In parallel, an anonymous site rebranded as the ❝Charlie Kirk Data Foundation❞ claimed tens of thousands of ❝tips,❞ while firings and investigations rippled across classrooms, military units, and workplaces — often triggered by misidentifications and out-of-context posts1. Civil-liberties advocates warned that government involvement in this …Ignoring and Excusing Violence Against Their Opponents
MAGA’s outrage over political violence is profoundly selective. The same leaders now canonizing Kirk were silent or scornful when violence struck their opponents. In Vance’s post-Kirk broadside, he cited attacks by deranged leftists as proof of a leftist terror wave, yet he ❝did not mention❞ recent attacks against Democrats and liberal figures —among them the hammer attack on Paul Pelosi and the assassination of Minnesota House Speaker emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband in their home— events that drew scant sympathy from Trump and MAGA officials by comparison to the elaborate tributes for Kirk1,3. (When asked about Hortman, Trump’s response —❝I’m not familiar. The who?❞— spoke volumes about the movement’s double standard around grief and honour3.)

The pattern is consistent. After the Pelosi assault, prominent MAGA voices mocked the victim or floated smears; Charlie Kirk himself suggested bailing out the attacker —casting him as a potential ❝patriot❞ hero— yet the same figures demand reverential mourning and career-ending reprisals against anyone who posts a snide remark about Kirk4. MAGA lawmakers and influencers who decry ❝cancel culture❞ when it targets their side weaponized it instantly in our current episode — threatening lifetime bans, professional blacklists, and state action against perceived offenders4.

Crucially, data cut against the movement’s ❝not a both-sides problem❞ claim: over the past half-century, far-right extremists have committed the overwhelming majority of ideologically motivated murders in the U.S., while far-left violence accounts for a small fraction by comparison5. Yet MAGA leaders invert reality, diminute right-wing violence (Charleston, Pittsburgh, El Paso, Buffalo) as aberrations while treating isolated left-linked crimes as proof of a vast conspiracy1,5.

Inciting Violence While Condemning It
The darkest hypocrisy is how MAGA elites disavow violence in principle while stoking…order❞ posture when violence serves MAGA ends6. Donald Trump’s public record is saturated with incitement and indulgence of aggression —calls to rough up protesters, the ❝stand back and stand by❞ line to the Proud Boys, the ❝fight like hell❞ exhortation before January 6— followed by denials and deflections when violence erupts. The movement’s leaders license hostility by casting the left as an existential, even ❝terroristic,❞ threat; they then propose state crackdowns (up to terror labels and RICO) against civil society organizations and protesters who offend their sensibilities1.

Thus, MAGA’s leaders incite violence in the very act of condemning it: a campaign billed as ❝civility❞ is chilling dissent, deputizing online mobs, and normalizing surveillance and retaliation. Far from preventing political violence, these tactics fuel a vicious cycle — each round of selective outrage hardens grievances and makes further violence more likely1,4,5.

Conclusion: Moral Bankruptcy Behind the Outrage
The MAGA movement’s handling of the Kirk tragedy is a masterclass in hypocrisy and selective indignation. Vance and company had the chance to respond with principle — affirming that political violence is unacceptable across the board. Instead, they exploited a killing to demonize opponents, punish speech, and threaten dissent. They demand sacred mourning for their martyrs while sneering at victims on the other side. They praise ❝free speech❞ while orchestrating cancellations. They renounce violence yet flirt with it, excuse it, and even glorify it when aimed at the ❝right❞ targets.

This is not moral leadership; it is authoritarian opportunism. Until figures like Vance and Trump condemn all political violence without partisan bias and turn down their own flames, their pleas for ❝civility❞ will ring hollow. America does face a rising threat of political violence — but MAGA’s selective outrage and continued incitement make that threat worse. A movement that wraps itself in the langu…
