And also, there's no jail! An OS "jail" (docs.freebsd.org/en/books/han...) provides guaranteed limits on a program. To "jailbreak" (e.g., en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IOS_jai...) is to find a flaw that breaks those guarantees. "Guardrails" aren't guarantees: they're guidelines.

Connecting OT to the Internet is only worth the risk if a) you have an excellent security team or b) the cost of compromise is close to 0. The latter is almost never true, especially in the case of critical infrastructure. value(business convenience) < cost(cyberattack)
