every time I listen to this song it's just rediscovering the sickest riff of all time, then hearing the NEXT riff and being like "oh no, THIS is the sickest riff of all time", multiple times

the Christopher Walken Census sketch is probably my favorite but this one is also a contender

the only film I know that made surgery look more erotic was Repo Men (2012) & outside the "shoving your arm and a device deep inside your partner's torso cavity after you just sliced them open" sex scene at the climax, that film was trash Crimes of the Future is the ideal version of that scene x10

Colin Simmons of Texas did a piss taunt after sacking the Tennessee QB and caught a penalty for it. The slo-mo angle is incredible

kept trying to upload photos during the trip, but either connection was bad or bluesky was fucking up anyways, here's some Austria pics

View from the shores of Lake Zell in Austria - a large forested hill in the background with calm, clear waters

View of Old Town Salzburg from high above in Hohensalzburg Fortress - a bird's eye view of many medieval-looking buildings including a large cathedral, with a river flowing through the city and hills in the distance.

View from the interior of Hohensalzburg Fortress - a high stone wall on the right and restored castle buildings on the left, with a fantastic view of blue skies and clouds

A tall yellow building with the words "Mozarts Geburtshaus" across the front - Mozart's Birthplace

there is exactly one thing that Brent Key teams have done and that's block punts we are insanely inconsistent on literally everything else but we can get after a punt

this scene and the end of "Harley's Holiday" always get me, the best Batman to ever do it

ah, like when you discover something the previous owner of your house "fixed" and the plumber / electrician / etc. you called in stares at it for a bit then says "never seen that before"

030

triplebatman @triplebatman.com · 05/09/2026

that's wild - wonder if it was an ego thing alternatively: "your own bones are unknowable" is a great prompt for a horror story

my extremely limited understanding from talking with people in medicine is that basically every single human has something non-standard about their bodies and surgeons rarely talk to people about just how weird the human body is once you get in there

Gonna hit on a more out-of-left field fantasy option and recommend Lawrence Watt-Evans lots of smaller stories set in a shared world but with very little overlap or need to read in order. The Blood of a Dragon is specifically from the perspective of an adolescent character

I have not, I'll add it to my horror backlog

it's almost slapstick comedy for the first few times when Lee Byung-hun's character just swoops in out of nowhere, beats the shit out of the killer, and vanishes but the way it devolves and falls apart to be horrifying is such an amazing mood shift only film I've seen do it better is The Wailing

if you describe the protomen in words, you get something like "mega man rock opera for theater kids and prog nerds" and it sounds like the most swagless music u could ever listen to but u could not be more incorrect

it's good, but I will give a HUGE trigger warning that I didn't get - the inciting incident of the film involves a pet dying so just be prepared

Been catching up on my horror movie backlog and the hype for Obsession was definitely justified like even minus the social commentary, the acting, the cinematography, etc. are just all top-notch and even when you KNOW what's coming, the execution of those moments is so well done

finally watched Weapons (2025) and enjoyed it but I now understand why this film got a mixed reaction that said, Zach Cregger is really good at adding dark humor into his films without them feeling like overt horror comedies I think I liked Barbarian better, tho
