the tangible part of the fungus is often found around sites of important historical happenings, and it has been known to sprout shortly after world-changing events occur. the better story it would make for future generations, the larger the metafungus bloom.

The metafungus produces a kind of mycelium which spreads not through soil but through the events and narratives of history

I'm back after about 5 months I think ... here are cropped screenshots from stuff i never posted. (I'll be posting some stuff I made during that time too.) Feel free to check alt text!
enceladus chibi, cropped from a larger img. wasn't a fan of the og so i didn't post itcropped img; original is full body for all of them. again, wasn't a fan of the original so i never posted it. here's an image of all galilean moons together though !!here's iapetus, one of saturn's moons, and cropped from a larger image. she is holding a walnut !!i actually liked this one, but i never thought it was worth posting.

fun fact: the majority of my galilean moons art i never posted, simply because i wasn't a fan of how they came out unfortunately ..

At 1 AU, the solar wind density is ~10 particles per cm^3; or 1.67 x 10^-20 kg/m^3. An average wind speed of 400 km/s means a mass flow of 6.4 x 10^-15 kg/m^2/s. As kinetic energy, it's 0.51 mW/m^2. Across the whole 1 AU sphere it adds up to 1.43 x 10^20 W!

Labels read The Sun, The Hourglass Twins, Timber Hearth, The Attlerock, Brittle Hollow, Hollow's Lantern, Giant's Deep, Dark Bramble, and The Interloper.Screenshot of KSP showing the orbits of each planet. They are all close to evenly spaced, except for the eccentric cometary orbit of the Interloper.Screenshot of KSP showing a replica of the ship from Outer Wilds landed on the Ember Twin, with the Ash Twin looming large in the sky.Screenshot of KSP showing the pole of Giant's Deep, a gas giant with swirling green cloud forms.

S.Dom AKA Wolf 🦌 @woestruction.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
This is one of my favorite things I've ever made. I really wanted to make something that conveyed the scale of a supermassive black hole and the disks that surround them.
A giant swirling cloud of material spirals in space. The cloud flattens out into a hot flat blue-white disk at the center, but the gradient goes from white, orange, pink, and then green-brown as it rises over the cloudy toroidal disk. Stars are embedded into the disk, and a pair of freefloating ringed exoplanets floats together in the foreground.

The artist signature says Wolf because I use that moniker as an artist handle, and it has a deer hoof because deer are awesome.

Terminal instability of the Solar System triggered by stochastic solar mass loss

[Gift Art] Hanabi's space exploration! Featuring @nemezsf2004.bsky.social's android character, Hanabi Uzaki (I like his characters and wanted to draw her). I'm way less experienced at drawing humanoid bodies than I am at drawing planets and it shows :P
A digital illustration depicting the character Hanabi Uzaki, and android character by NemesisZSF2004, exploring space just above Titan's atmosphere. Saturn is in the background, in the bottom left corner of the image. The rings are barely visible on account of being nearly edge-on from the camera's perspective, but the shadow of the rings on the northern hemisphere and the ringshine on the southern hemisphere are clearly visible. Saturn is oriented such that north is up and to the left, and it is illuminated from below, in waning gibbous phase. Other moons are visible in the background and appear as dim points of light, only a few pixels across.

Hanabi, the yellow-haired android, is flying around, the exhaust plumes from her thrusters forming a trail in the background. She is upside-down from the camera's perspective.

If i was really into spec evo I think it would be fun to do a project that takes place on a planet with a thick atmosphere, but very gradually it loses this atmosphere and life has to evolve to handle lower and lower pressures. Eventually you end up with bizarre near-vacuum adapted creatures

an unusual planet populated entirely by a single species of autotrophic coral-like life #art
Drawing depicting a woman standing atop rocks surrounding by strange bright-red life. The sky is deep blue and cloudless.

Text to the right reads:
Survey of Mora-P. September 5th, 149013 CE, Natanya Lytle

Then beneath this there is a large block of text which reads:
The red corals of Mora-P have long since puzzled exobiologists
and anthropologists. They are, as far as we can tell, the only
species present across the entire planet. They are certainly not
natural, but nobody really knows who put them there or why.

Deep history of the local system provides some clues:
Geological surveys tell us that Mora-P was terraformed
between 110000 and 121000 CE (Luttrell et al., 149001), and
radioisotopes have been found dating back to around and a bit
beyond this time. People used to live here.

The red corals are full of cerebral tissue.
Why? What does an autotroph need such an expansive brain
for? In our survey we managed to analyse a section of coral
and map out its connectome. After further qualia modelling
(see technical appendix) we have arrived at a surprising
conclusion: The corals are in a constant state of bliss. The
whole planet is blanketed in sessile creatures experiencing
nothing but pure pleasure for thousands and thousands of
years. It's not the kind of pleasure you could get bored of
either, their brains are wired such that they are psychologically
incapable of experiencing negative emotions.

After further analysis of a segment of coral-brain, another far
more harrowing discovery was made: The corals are likely to
be a very, very heavily modified clade of humans.

In this text, I present the theory that the inhabitants of Mora-P
(tentatively called the "Coral-builder culture") are in fact still
alive and present in the forms of the sprawling coral lifeforms
blanketing the planet. This text covers geological data,
historical data mentioning inhabitants of Mora-P, and the
existential implications of their personhood and psychology.

View from a SSTO ascending from Titan. Saturn rises over the thick soupy stratospheric haze. The sky above is a deep dark blue, tinged by high forward-scattering haze like the ones we see at Pluto. Edge on, the rings are ~invisible. If you squint, you can see little Rhea as a few pixels of white above and to the left of Saturn. Rendered in Blender :0)

This artwork depicts a personified Earth ("Terra") holding a green bottle. Their name "Terra" is written in light blue at top left, and the top left and bottom right corners are decorated with simple patterns.

Terra is depicted as having a very dark skin, their hair is oriented to show Asia and Africa, and they are wearing clothes made of light blue lower atmosphere and white clouds. They looked contently at the green bottle with orange cap in their hand.
