I'm looking forward to looking at how Postgres optimizes query plans. But before that I needed a primer on how it rewrites query plans before even getting to statistics. theconsensus.dev/p/2026/09/13...

I think the thing I’m trying to be better about is just being fine with throwing a bunch of unworkable Claude slopcode away and trying again. Turning those learnings into a better initial plan for better results. Just etch-a-sketch it.

#Boulder’s new comprehensive plan could create capacity for up to 40% more housing, largely through “gentle infill” like duplexes, townhomes and ADUs. What gets built depends on zoning and the market. boulderreportinglab.org/2026/08/27/b...

Man - AI has completely eaten up the clouds capacity. We straight up can’t do a Postgres major version upgrade because GCP doesn’t have the capacity available for a measly 64cpu/256gb mem in their “Enterprise Plus” node pool. Scheduled 2 maintenance windows and failed twice now. Ridiculous!

I think GitHub’s refusal to acknowledge non-catastrophic outages and issues on their status page is really the worst part of their unreliability. I’m sympathetic to the strain their system with this scale. But you gotta be honest and acknowledge it publicly to your users.

@ryanwithboulder.bsky.social please oppose sending this to the ballot. There are other tools to solve the ailments of downtown that don’t involve locking critical tax dollars away from BVSD, OSMP, and other critical projects for the next 30 years. This is a total giveaway to commercial landlords.

Why did Boulder put a giant boulder in a bike route? Cyclists want answers.
The city says cyclists can still use the route. Initial signs and emails suggested otherwise.
