This is not my field of expertise, so I'm not claiming to share an expert opinion here. But, as a personal opinion, from what I've read and heard from some of the most prominent AI researchers, basically everyone seems to agree there is a significant risk misalignment in the coming decades.

A reminder that the only official investigation we're aware of besides this one (whatever Vance's language means here) is into the strike on the school in Minab. We haven't heard anything about the results of the investigation so far. (But it's pretty obvious by now it was a U.S. Tomahawk.)

Three other named victims are Mohammad Malahi, 16, whose body was so badly disfigured that they used the mobile phone found on his body to confirm it was him; Kolsoum Malahi Najandnia, 43; and Zarkhatoun Taheri, 50. The bride and groom survived the attack.

Among those killed in Kuhestak was Amir-Mohammad Karimi, a 6-year-old who was starting kindergarten, according to his mother. (Initially reported 4yo Amir-Ali. Interview w/ mother corrected that.) His face matches a video of a dead body inside morgue. t.co/wZhVm0fjbC

Regardless, we believe the U.S. used multiple munitions across various sites in Kuhestak last night. One strike destroyed a communications tower, but two witnesses (the bride’s father and a young guest) report the wedding location was hit by two separate strikes.

Hamid Kasiri, a local teacher, as well as a news agency, shared photos and videos of multiple apparent weapon fragments. Alongside @easybakeovensz.bsky.social, @mhmiranusa, @Navy_Iranian we identified some of these parts as components of AGM-154 Joint Standoff Weapon, or JSOW — a U.S. munition.

The strike happened at 21:30 local time. Within 30 mins, reports spread online. One came from Motahareh, a henna party guest. Her last photo before the blast showed them smoking shisha. She survived and documented the aftermath online.
