Tom G @tpmg.bsky.social · 01/10/2026The final posts do suggest this was likely a very localised collapse of Russian logistics capability due to intensive Ukrainian drone activity (just because I know most won't read the full thread 😉) 020
Tom G @tpmg.bsky.social · 02/09/2026I see him as fundamentally a hedge-fund guy right? So maybe there's some advantage in that sphere, or maybe as a Bloomberg talking head, conference speaker etc. I imagine he could get a hell of a capital raise afterwards on the notion that he retains some ~inside information / system understanding 011

I've taken off the paywall so it's now free to read. samf.substack.com/p/the-financ...samf.substack.comThe financial crisis theory of everythingLast month there was a fascinating poll from More in Common asking people to pick the main reason Britain is “on the wrong track”. 33367132
Tom G @tpmg.bsky.social · 13/08/2026@azeem.bsky.social Just finished reading your paper on the state of the AI economy via Exponential View. Loved it. On page 44 re. elasticity of token demand, this triggered a (neo-Keyesian?) instinct that tech. is often elastic on the way up, but once integrated it's inelastic on the way down 📈 020

Tom G @tpmg.bsky.social · 31/03/2025Part of the question re. the US is whether the government sees tariffs as a bargaining tool, or whether they genuinely believe that tariffs and government cuts will enable massive tax reductions... My concern is mainly that it's the latter 000
Tom G @tpmg.bsky.social · 10/02/2025Similar to productivity improvements by increasing cost of labour via NLW and NI, I wonder if this is a nuance that's been spotted by some observers. Tom G @tpmg.bsky.social · 21/01/2025The point is mostly self-discipline, being proactive and motivated. It also comes back to good management and trust. Tom G @tpmg.bsky.social · 17/11/2024A lot of what I read focuses on this as a tax-raising budget with an element of politics, but it also makes sense if you view the Chancellor and gov't as taking action against low wage, low-investment economy and rebalancing incentives around shortage public sector occupations. 000
