SDC M40 is built on 76 hectares of greenbelt land near Gerrards Cross. Surveys found 188 species of invertebrates, 9 bat species, and even the nationally scarce click beetle that needs ancient woodland. The developer calls the habitat "relatively easy to (re)create", but you can't plant that back.

Wildlife populations are already being hit hard by land clearing, climate change, feral animals etc. Now add #H5N1 bird flu to the list. The best way to help wildlife withstand these threats is to stop knocking down their homes. Weak standards are a licence to continue habitat destruction.
