Fingers crossed. Lots of players available to train at the club during the international break I think will help us.

MegaBreak is over. #NUFC head to Coventry City on Monday. Which means the MFTOON match previews are back. In a Nutshell: Frank Lampard’s Coventry City operate with the PL’s lowest defensive line and fewest chances created, but they got full points at City Ground. Here's what I saw in that match 🧵

They can't yet because of the rules on spending which is why we had to basically start again this season.

He's past it at international level, I don't see the big drama. He's made his ending to his international career into a right mess.

Find me a rich person who isn't. However if I got a job that meant I could leave this country, I'd do it in a shot. Not for tax reasons though. Can't imagine the rules help us plebs anyway.

So you left and went to an even bigger underachieving club that finished 5 places below Newcastle and survived the drop by the skin of their teeth. Also, now, conveniently, getting paid £275k per week.

Not only did City officials withhold/lie/cheat over nine seasons, but they then purposefully tried to tamper with an active 4yr investigation. Insane. No idea what will happen, but a ban from the Premier League for 5 years and monetary sanctions come to mind. www.premierleague.com/en/news/4727...

Premier League Statement: Manchester City FC
An independent Commission has found Manchester City FC guilty of all charges related to serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules over a nine-season period, and the majority of charges in relation to its failure to co-operate with the League’s investigation.

Surely at the very least they should be fined the £900m they falsely took. There current position would look very different if they were only earning £119m or whatever it was over that period.

I assume they can't. PL can refuse access though for a period of years if they wanted.

Toontastic @toontastic.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
Like I said, the PL don't control all the leagues like the Scottish leagues so they can't as they've not broken any football league rules

I agree, I just don't know how they'll do it with the PL and football league being totally separate entities. The PL cannot do any more than relegate them from the league. Someone has suggested they could be banned for more than one year though, maybe that's more of the answer.

Toontastic @toontastic.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
They can't be relegated mid season so I'd imagine they'd just take one of the relegation spots this season.
100
Toontastic @toontastic.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
That's possible I guess.
000
Toontastic @toontastic.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
The FL would have to find them guilty of something to relegate them because of the leagues being totally separate. Doubt the FL has the money to fight that battle. That's why the most they can get is relegation from PL. Don't think they can even set points deductions for consecutive seasons.
100
Toontastic @toontastic.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
They could.....but won't unfortunately.
200
Toontastic @toontastic.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
They can't, the PL doesn't control the lower leagues. Totally separate unlike the Scottish and Italian leagues who have done that before.
000
Toontastic @toontastic.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
Because the PL is its own entity, surely a club can only get relegated out of the league into the Championship so not really sure what the worst the PL can do. They'll be back within a year.

A reminder that nearly all of the big clubs rejoicing this verdict wanted to join the Super League which would have broken competitive fairness in football forever. It’s not about that. Never has been. Just protectionism of the status quo.
