The Gundam Base Side-F in Fukuoka was amazing! It’s located inside the Lalaport mall in Fukuoka (obviously) high is a 10-15 minute walk from Takeshita station. Before shopping though, we went through the mall right to the big show itself! Biiig 🧵 incoming… #gunpla

Pin and glue/cement repair of the arm joint was successful! When getting it out of the poses a few days ago one of the shoulder joint pegs sheared off. With a brass rod, some cement and sprue glue, and super glue to top it off, I let the part sit over a few days, then sanded it down, and it’s fixed!

One big marathon paint session and all the leg parts are done, can’t wait to assemble later. Pushed for one last good day so even if the weather completely craps out in October once I’m back from Japan I feel like the full MGEXSF inner frame is a pause point I won’t feel any regrets about! #gunpla

Optimus got his top coat! I really liked this kit - a simple but well made build. The polycaps it uses are a little tight to connect but once in hold well and don’t feel stained. And the stickers aren’t the worst. Happy to build this in memory of Peter Cullen. #gunpla #plamo #transformwrs

So I have a few nice days coming up and decided… screw it, I really want to work on MGEX SF. The injection gold parts are gonna get a repaint, the plated parts a gloss coat so I can properly panel line, and the other misc colors are gonna get a bit of a touch up #gunpla

Late night #gunpla thoughts. I feel like I made (and am in the process of making) a pretty decent leap forward with my build abilities and overall skill. But I’m also really frustrated because I had a lot more I wanted to get done this year, but the end of painting season is reading its head.

Optimus Prime was a foundational figure for me growing up. The way that Peter portrayed him, inspired by his late brother Larry, was truly something special. A leader with kindness, compassion, and dignity alongside strength was, and sadly is, something of a rarity. Til all are one, Peter.
