Is there too much new music? This is a debate that rages in my own mind. Every Friday me and my pals ask each other ‘any new releases today?’, which is normally followed by a list of music we’re interested in. This is great, and I love it. But every once in a while I miss the days of my youth.

Nothing better than coffee and the Sunday papers in bed. In July my pal Richie went to on a trip to the US and brought me back a paper copy of the New York Times. He gave it to me yesterday. ‘All the New That’s Fit to Print’ from 4 weeks ago.

My new word/phrase of the day is criti-hype. Heard from Cory Doctorow, coined by Lee Vinsel. Meaning: when person attacks something by exaggerating its power, and they end up hyping it up, along with the people they’re criticising.
